BEER INFO

Brewed by:

Style: Altbier

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 6.50%

Availability: Rotating

Notes / Commercial Description:

L: Pours clear dark amber under a dense, creamy 1” off-white foam collar that fades to a thick film while providing thick lace. S: Clean and robust malt with restrained fruit and no hop aromas and no diacetyl. T: Rich, nutty malt flavors, dark fruit, almost some faint licorice, finishes dry to medium dry, with a little bitter. No roast malt. Did not notice sulfury or minerally character. F: Mouthfeel: creamy, smooth, medium to medium high carbonation, medium low body. No astringency O: Well balanced, bitter but malty, clean and smooth, well attenuated

From a 11.2 oz swingtop into a willi becher

A: sepia brown with a little reddish tint in the light...2 finger khaki head that subsides and leaves some fairly nice lacing.

S: good bready toasty warm malts, some caramel, some nuttiness, faint grassy noble hippiness.

T: What one would expect from the nose...good balance, rich layers of flavor...a little chocolate in there, the roasted malt lingers in a very pleasant way.

Hop bitterness plays with bitterness from the roast in the malts to create a dark, toasty, puckering brew with a beautiful sticky head and lacing. Some toasty grains and husks are present as well amid a subtle, but warm, earthy backdrop. Medium light body surprises the senses. Dry finish.
