Swing top. Coppery color. Poured into a Uerige highball sampler glass; feeling the mood. Pretty beer. Aroma is soft and evokes the essence of beer. No frills. Caramel, bread and some herbal hops. Flavor is very similar to the scent; no surprises. Bare bones and direct. Light bodied. Very drinkable. Not too elaborate but I could destroy 7-9 of these in a sitting.

Pours a clear dark copper with a 1" head of foam.

Smell is malty, earthy hops, nutty.

The taste surpasses the pleasant smell. A kind of earthy and spicy hop thing going on with a nice nutty sweet ish malt presence. Smooth and tasty with a nice mouthfeel and I reckon I am drinking a fine Alt indeed.

Sit down at the brewery and this is what you get.....like it or not. Fortunately I did and had another.

Has a foamy, decent, long staying head, while its color is defined by a lovely dark brown color, in which red glowing hints are visible.

Nose is full of malt defined aromas, very bready with hints of tobacco and a slightly sour peak of fresh yeast.

Beginning is very soft on the palate, with lots of earth and whole-grain bread, while a subtle biscuit touch adds sweeter hints to it. Malt body then turns particular bitter for an Alt, still accompanying the malts. Finishes with slightly sour, soft yeasty hints, while a dry, bitter hop note becomes more present. Inconvenient bitter, very complex, with a distinct flowery, dry hop note amongst a bready malt body.

A terrifically malty, tasty beer. I wish it came in a bigger bottle.

Really cool looking bottle purchased at Beers of the World in Henrietta, NY.

Pours a copper brown, with a one inch head, and a little bit of lacing.

Smells like grass, toasted bread, caramel, and toffee.

A pretty good hop profile on this one, must be relatively fresh. Some herbal and grassy hop bitterness that lingers for a bit, with delicious crackery toasty bready malt flavor, along with dry caramel.

Medium bodied, pretty full for the ABV at 4.7%. Low carbonation, crisp, clean mouthfeel.

This one of the best German breweries that you can get in the US. Awesome stuff.
