Knowing the derth of options in the St Louis area since I was a former resident, I was pleased to find ITH while doing my usual search on Beerfly.

My visit was at the time of the NCAA basketball tournament last month. The first night I stopped in the place was moderately attended. The beer coolers were on the opposite wall from the bar and roped off so only employees could access it. Very respectable selection of regional beers like Boulevard, O'Fallon and Midwest brews like Bells and Founders. Nothing extraordinary mind you, but all worthy of respect from the beer enthusiest. The bar itself is rather stark and quite loud as there is nothing on the walls to mute the din. The bar seats about 20 or so and the wall behind it is lined with approximately 30 or so taps. I recall having Bells Hopslam and recall seeing Founders and Avery Maharaja on tap along with a few standard Belgians, ie Chimay, et al. Again, the lines were clean and the options were very respectable. I met a kooky couple from the bowels of MO who were seriously questioning their deeply ensconsed religious beliefs. The wife was a breast feeding consultant (heh?). The husband a long haired-dude who looked really tired. Fasinating people. The next night I stopped in after watching my UCONN Huskies win to advance to the elite eight. The place was packed with Mizzou fans cheering their team on. There was also a camera crew. Lot's of cute co-eds. But I digress. If I happen to be in the area again on business, I will stop in. I recommend others do the same. Congrats to folks in the St Louis area recognizing that the time is now to embrace quality beer.

500-ish beers. Nothing more needs to be said, though the outstanding service is welcome, too. That 500-ish list of beers is excellent, too - something for every palate. It's like "Toys 'R Us" for beer nerds.

My wife and I stopped by this place for a beer after taking a long walk on the levee. It is a small bar, cozy, with lots of beer swag decorating every corner. There are about 40 taps and a large fridge with hundreds of different bottles. For a quiet afternoon, there were more patrons than we expected, and service was prompt and courteous. I had a Stone and my wife had an Ommegang. The selection is almost entirely craft, and they serve in appropriate glasses. No food, no hard liquor, and only a couple of wine selections...this is a beer lover's place. Worth a stop if you have time to kill in the Chesterfield Valley.
