(Served in a petite tulip)
Note: I asked twice to confirm this was the correct beer. The bartender said it was

A- This beer pours a deep caramel brown body with a thin creamy foam that last a good bit and has some nice lacing with each sip. There is a gentle carbonation of tiny bubbles trailing to the surface.

S- The nose of toffee caramel with a subtle hop note is otherwise clean. There is a new sneaker and pumpkin quality that comes through as the beer opens and has a yeast quality to it.

T- The fruity esters blends with an alcohol taste and some caramel and toffee hints aswell. The green herbal hops in the finish are soft with very little bitterness and linger with a malt sweetness. There is a green resin quality to the hops in the last few sips.

M- The light mouthfeel has an alcohol warmth that is softer than the alcohol taste.

O- The toffee and malt sweetness are nice with a softer support from the hops and the pumpkin character from their yeast adds a nice depth. I wouldn't put this in the IIPA category but it is a nice barleywine if it needs a category.

Thanks to Vonenrichs for this growler.

A: Poured from growler into a shaker's pint. Pours a very dark red-tinted brown in color. Virtually as dark as a brown ale itself. Yet still very clear. Forms a sizable tan head. Good retention. Light lacing.

S: Heady scent of pine and spicy hops.

T: Malty, but not overly so. Caramel malts, pine, some pine resin, with a strong bitterness and a surprisingly quick finish.

M: Full bodied. Seems to have lost a bit of it's carbonation since the fill, but not at all flat.

D: Rather malty for the style. Bitterness is nicely balanced against the malts, but this beer lacks a strong hop flavor and is kind of one dimensional. A nice try, but needs some work.

Poured from a growler I picked up today, into a MJ tasting glass.

Pours a clear, deep copper with a light tan, creamy head of about 2 fingers, meringue-like lacing evident. Keeps its head longer than most DIPAs.

Aromas of pine resin and citrus hops, deep caramel malts.

First sip is like the aroma, piney and citrusy (orange) hops, a bracing bitterness, and a hint of caramel malt in the back. Finish goes on and on, with resiny, piney hops and a near puckering, nearly drying bitterness.

Mouthfeel is big, chewy, with mouth-coating hop bitterness. Soft carbonation, no carbonic bite or prickle.

Very drinkable. One of my favorites at Limestone. Even though it's got a big bracing bitterness, it's not overly aggressive, and there's no grassy hints that you can get from use of too many hops. Achieves an appropriate level of bitterness without overdoing it. Very nice beer.

Served in a tulip glass at the brewpub.

I spoke to the brewmaster about this beer, and was pretty surprised to hear about the ridiculous-sounding hop schedule. Good man. It pours a hazy sunset amber topped by a half-finger of dirty white micro-foam. The nose comprises toffee, pepper, pine, light leek, and cilantro. The taste holds notes of caramel, orange peel, pine, cilantro, and light cardamom. The hops are assertive, but are not the be-all and end-all here. I like it. The body is a light-ish medium, with a light carbonation, a smooth feel, and a semi-drying finish. Overall, a very nice DIPA, one that doesn't try to destroy your 'buds with resins. Nicely done.

One of my all time favorite beers. Heavy, Full body, chewy, heavy beer. Strong hops and malt. One of the first things that I noticed about this beer is its beautiful color. You can taste hints of carmel. Also the smell of hops and malt. It's a beer that you must sip on and enjoy every sip of it's simple but wonderful flavor

Pours a clear, dark amber color. 1/3 inch head of an off-white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of strong hops, sweet malt, and slight roasted malt. Fits the style of an American Double / Imperial IPA. Mouth feel is smooth and clean with an average carbonation level. Tastes of strong hops, sweet malt, and subtle spice. Overall, full-bodied, filling, not complex, but still good.

Appears a hazy amber with an orange hue when held to the light. A light tan head slowly fades out into a small cap. Spotty bits of lacing are left around the glass.
Smell is of toffee, candy sugar, intense hops, citrus, and floral notes.
Taste is of the aromas with with a sweet caramel mix of hop blast, well balanced with a hint of cocoa in the flavors.
Mouthfeel is medium-full bodied, chewy, sweet up front but balanced between sugar and bitterness.
