There is nothing "Grapefruit" about this beer. I have given dewclaw too many chances... after this beer, I am convinced that i do not enjoy their brews. Leave this one in the case.

Bought a 6 pack, stamped as bottled on 5/9 then drank on 5/24.
Great example of a blonde ale. Fruity, hoppy and fresh, very refreshing. Easy to drink a few, perfect for the recent hot weather.
Highly recommended as a flavorful lighter summer beer. Will be seeking out more in the future.

Pours gold with minimal head and low carbonation. Taste is caramel malt, with light grapefruit middle and slightly more grapefruit juice at the end. Light lemon and a bit of nuttiness is also present. This is a well balanced beer with light bitterness that could use a bit more grapefruit. Still I could see myself drinking a bunch of this during the warmer months.

12oz bottle bottles 5/27/15, poured into a pint

A- pours a clear bright golden color with a one-finger foamy & sudsy head that retains nicely after the pour

S- moderate lemon & grapefruit zest up front, underlying pale malts adds some toasted notes and a bit of sweetness

T- clean and malty up front with some toasted grain followed by a bitter hit of sharp grapefruit zest and some lemony/grassy hop before finishing bone dry with a citrus linger

M- medium-light body with moderate spritz carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel that quickly drops off to a clean dry finish

O- this beer has just enough grapefruit/lemon bitterness so that it doesn't overpower the subtle base beer. It's quick & dry finish raises the drinkability through the roof, this would be easy to tackle a 6pack on a summer day.

Sample at Max's Taphouse on 5/14/14

A: Copper tinged straw with ok lacing.

S: Like your standard blonde or pale, very light.

T: Hoppyish. Blonde. Paleish with a pretty much imperceptible grapefuit notes. Slightly bitter and tart at the end on the aftertaste.

M: Smooth, but some slightly course bubbles throughout.

O: I thought this was going to be an IPA.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a golden color with a 1 inch head. Smell is of grapefruit. Taste is mild, malts, light grapefruit, refreshing but a tad bland. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer.

-grapefruit zested blonde ale. spiegelau ipa glass.

A: Bright pumpkin orange with a strong, protein haze and suspended particulate matter within. Steady medium rise of effervesce with a thin, chalky white head that was quick to dissipate with no window lacing evident on the vessel. Love the yeasty haze.

S: Fresh orange slice aroma followed by lightly dry hopped helping of citrus flower. Herbal scents of parsely and softly dried orane peel finish up.

T: Zesty grapefruit, fresh, juicy flavor paired with lightly dry orange and citrus hops. Wheat backing, citrusy dry hops linger a bit on the finish.

M: snappy carbonation, light bodied, smoothly slick feel and gentle on the tongue.

O: Bright flavor, fairly bold per style , some zesty fresh grapefruit and orange mention with a sharp mouthful right on par. Citrusy, great drinkability for a summer time pool/beach side affair. Mutliple worthy, would recommend for american blonde and six pack.
