Wow. One of my new favorites in the style. Taste is of pineapple, honey, light apple, and citrus. Very light, but tasty. Could do several of these.

12 oz. bottle poured into a pilsner glass.

A: Slightly hazy blonde body with a fine, creamy white head that endures and leaves excellent lacing.
.
S: Herbal and floral, with hints of citrus and pine.

T: Amply hoppy; about equal weight from citrus and herbal notes. Faint light malts in the background. Mildly bitter aftertaste.

M: Smooth and crisp; semi-dry finish. Medium-high carbonation.

O: a well crated IPL; drinks like a light-bodied Pale Ale.

12 oz bottle, poured into a pint glass

Appearance: Pours a clear, golden yellow color with an eighth of a finger of white-colored head that quickly dissolved away into a thin lacing of foam that completely covered the top of the beer. Honestly, it looks like a BMC beer, but with much prettier head.

Aroma: Very aromatic, with lots of floral, piney, grassy, orangey & lemony citrusy hops escaping the glass, as well as some honey, honey-suckle, caramel, and bready, toasted malt. However, most of the aromas are of the aforementioned hops.

Taste: Very similar to the aroma. First flavors are of floral, piney, grassy, orangey & lemony citrusy hops, not too bitter, but very assertive, followed by some pronounced, bready, toasted malt, caramel-like sweetness, and some black pepper.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied, crisp, clean and extremely effervescent, as there is a ton of carbonation. With an ABV of 5.0%, there is no alcohol on the palate.

Overall: This is a nice IPL. Good flavors, hoppy, but not overly bitter, and balanced well with some pronounced, bready, toasted malt. Easy to drink, and very satisfying. I’d certainly drink it again, and I’m very happy to support two of my favorite local breweries!

12 oz. bottle poured into a Burley Oak snifter (bottled on 10/15/14)

A: Clear blonde body, like your classic "fizzy yellow" beer.
S: Light, airy and floral. Crisp and bright. Nice bit of pine in there for good measure.
T: Clean and crisp. Hops that just brush along your palate and leave tinge of bitterness. Lager flavor that is felt in the body and the bit of flavor that lingers mainly on the back of the tongue and in the aftertaste.
M: Smooth with just the tiniest barrage of minuscule bubbles.
O: Just a nice delicious and hoppy lager. Like all of their better stuff it is a one-time thing or a collaboration.

- spiegelau ipa glass

A: Pale orange with a fine clarity reveals a medium steady rise of carbonation. Slightly creamy topping of one inch is moderately retaining with a skim coating for coverage. Solid thin sheet band of lacing.

S: Aroma of fresh wet lemons-oranges of moderate awareness. Soft, lightly dry pine flower finish.

T: Flavor had a solid level of dry pine and grapefruit peel hopping. Bittering dry lemon, pilsner grains, with a hint of dry grassiness coming on the finish. Also some dry straw.

M: Crisp mouthful, solid here with a sharp and razor like deliver that gets it right. Pollen like coating of hop flowers cover the tongue.

O: Generous amounts of dry northwest hops with a crisp lager like drinking experience. Lingering dry hop bitterness, crisp, with lipa respectable hop levels. Definitly one of the more aggressively hopped IPL's i've had and one of the better Duclaw ones as well. Recommended by style.

Poured from the bottle into a Libbey style pilsner glass.

Deep lemon yellow with a good hint of green to it. Slightly hazy with a good amount of slow and rising carbonation. Head is a little milky and fluffy with two giners tall and simple soapy retention. Settles nice and slowly to a thin but thick puck.

A real nice note of tropical hop aromas and muddy earth it seems. Clean, and slightly hinting of spruce and pine as well. Not much else going on but pretty solid and basic, hinting towards a nice light hopped up brew.

Palate hits nicely. Big juice notes of melon like fruit, and a real spicy and piney blast on the finish. Lingering notes of juiced tropics with a good amount of dry and astringent earthy pine like bitterness. Very light and clean mouthfeel, just like a solid pilsner. Aftertaste though really has a bit of burn, and lingering medicinal bitter afterawhile.

There's a lot of impressive qualities, but it seems to hide the fact that it's a lager, and also has a bit of style blur all over. Is this an Ipa or a Lager, too hard to tell, but if you want to have hops in your lager like crazy then this is your beer.
