Style: American Porter

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 6.50%

Notes / Commercial Description:
First brewed in 2011, this Chocolate Peanut Butter Porter is jet black in color with a tan, rocky head, full body and creamy, luxurious mouthfeel. Its lightly sweet, malty flavor is accented by rich flavors of chocolate, coffee and peanut butter, and balanced by a subtle hop character and moderate 6.5% abv. Sweet Baby Jesus finishes smooth, dry, and roasty with lingering notes of chocolate and peanut butter so savory, you will exclaim its name!

Very good, only undermined by belching beavers peanut butter stout.

Nice porter with dark color. More Chocolate taste than peanut butter. Nice Malty flavor goes really smooth with a great finish to it. so kudos to DuClaw

Poured into a porter style glass. Got a large aroma of peanut butter more than chocolate. Tasted of a bittersweet peanut butter chocolate. I guess I expected a sweeter kind of porter with this but it's drinkable.

This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance had a quick slim finger’s white head that quickly dissipated. No lacing was there at all. The smell started off with more of a chocolate to peanut butter blend but as it warmed, the peanut butter came out stronger. The taste was pretty much the same as the chocolate faded as it warmed. There’s a slight quick salty to sweet peanut butter aftertaste with no finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent session quality on it. Overall, pretty good peanut butter chocolate porter I’d have it again.

Not my style of beer by a long shot, especially in the summer. Given as a gift, and with an admitted love of peanut butter, a dove in with mixed expectations....not bad, not great...nice subtle peanut butter flavor...will now try on bread with some jelly...details to follow....

Its really not my thing, but the beer was put together well. The initial peanut butter smack in the face subsided after the first sip. A good beer, just not one of my fav styles.
