Notes:
If you enjoy a good wheat beer, why are you settling for just “good”? Southside Weiss is an unfiltered wheat ale that’s smooth, fresh and fantastic. Citrus notes courtesy of the noble “Mandarina Bavaria” hop complement its subtle, wheat-inspired sweetness. The result is an easy-drinking ale with a crisp, clean finish. Why settle for a good wheat beer when you can have a Southside Weiss?

Tap at Olde Meck. Bright gold pour, fairly clear. Layer of white head. Some miniscule lacing.
Aroma, grainy, dry grass, white bread.
Taste, grainy-hay like malt. Light biscuit and very light lemon zest.
Light body, good carbonation, very easy to drink. This would be great in the summer. No bannana or clove. Another good German example from these guys.

A: Pours a cloudy medium to dark straw yellow with light amounts of gentle visible carbonation along the edges of the glass and some golden yellow highlights. The beer has a three finger tall pillowy foamy white head that slowly reduces to . Moderate to significant amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Light to moderate aromas of wheat with some light aromas of bready malts. There is a very light amount of lemon/citrus and some hints of banana + clove. There is just a light amount of grassy hops as well.
T: Upfront there is a moderate flavor of wheat and light to moderate flavors of bready malts. There are light flavors of lemon/citrus with just a light amount of clove spices. There is a light to moderate flavor of grassy hops in the finish. Light amounts of bitterness in the finish which fades almost instantly.
M: Light bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation.
O: Very easy to drink and a nice summer beer which is easily enjoyed and sessionable. A little uncharacteristic of a hefeweizen being so wheat forward but there are some hints of banana and clove.

T-Wheat, yeast, bananas, spice. Light crackery malt. Some other generic fruity flavors. A light, airy crackery malt.
M-Light bodied. Crisp with a bunch of bubbles.
O-A considerably wheaty Hefeweizen. Mild in most every other aspect of the flavor. A perfect beer to try at a beer festival.

Poured from a bottle into a Weiss vase, the beer is a slightly hazed, straw gold coloring with a bubbly, low profile, white head. Good steady flow of carbonation throughout the body. Aromas of banana, toasted grains, subtle tart citrus notes, and floral hops bitterness. Flavors are toasted and richly sweet forward, with a blend of honey and banana, all on a toasted bread backbone. The body is smooth, but light, with a slight effervescence in the finish. Lingering caramel and honey sweetness. Very easy drinker.
