Notes / Commercial Description:
By adding rose hips to the boil and fresh raspberry puree at the end of fermentation, this kettle-soured beer is a mélange of flavors and aromas. With a light ruby hue, subtle raspberry fruit notes greet the nose and fall soft on the palate; tangy, hibiscus-like flavors mingle with the salty tartness of gose to create a uniquely complex and refreshing drinking experience.

Oooo ya, I like that. Blush red like a geisha on your first date, this one is pretty. Smells fresh and tart like your wife after your neptuials. Taste? Oh yeah. Clean n good like your gutter after the street sweeper just went by.

Yep!

Can:
This is right in line with many of the AV Goses in my opinion. A familiar malt profile upon which the additional flavors, sour, and salt can dance. This one might not be as sour as some, but the raspberry comes through with a light touch to the moderate tart/sour profile.

A near clear - maybe chill haze - rose with an orange/golden hue. Off white bubbles fill the glass to the rim before fading moderately slowly to a medium thick, loosely coupled bubble ring. This thins considerably once drinking commences, no lacing.

Nose is light cracker and wheat, reminiscent of other AV offerings, with a not overly distinctive raspberry aspect. The rose hips aren't coming to me, but may be combining with the fruit note to dull it without adding a distinctive note itself.

Berry is noted, and the tartness is at a moderate level. Not too puckering, there's a little tug at the back of the tongue and tingling of the sides. A fairly clean beer, it is easy drinking as I'd want it to be for a refreshing beer. A nice salinity level in back softens the beer nicely.

If you like other AV fruited Goses I don't think you'll dislike this one.

Just when I was getting burnt out on the holy gose and blood orange, here this one comes along and reminds me why I love Anderson valley. This beer is readily available at most of my local bottle shops and is not hard to find. Smell is light funk, taste is a mild raspberry tart and so light it’s almost like drinking a sprite. Great beer, grab it if you see it!

12oz can - I'm sure that they had fun coming up with this one's name, especially if 'framboise' is pronounced in the manner of most English speakers.

This beer pours a slightly hazy, pale orangish salmon colour, with three chubby fingers of puffy, finely foamy, and somewhat creamy off-white head, which leaves some mountaintop snow line lace around the glass as it quickly blows off.

It smells of raspberry puree, muddled domestic citrus rind, gritty and grainy cereal malt, white saltine crackers, and some rather mild earthy, musty, and floral hop bitters. The taste is grainy and crackery pale malt, rosewater, a faded smooshed raspberry essence, saline, and more well-understated herbal, leafy, and grassy green hoppiness.

The carbonation is fairly active in its palate-tickling frothiness, the body a so-so medium weight, and generally smooth, once you get acclimatized to the mild tart character here. It finishes trending dry, the raspberries holding on for dear life amongst the lingering graininess.

Overall - this is a pleasant enough version of the style, with the guest ingredients applied in cautious doses. Crisp, refreshing, and easy to put back as the temperatures outside start to feel a little more Spring-like.

The beer pours out a pinkish rose color, with 1 finger of off white head----------- the aromas are of tartness, wheat, raspberry soda and grass/floral------------- the flavors start off tart with wheat, grass and watered down berry, the beer has a thin mouthfeel with a dry salty finish------------- overall this beer was good it was just one dimensional, I wanted to taste more raspberry it was just tart and dry that's about it--

It comes in a clear pink color with a small off white fizzy head. The head retention is very short as is expected, but it doesn't die a way completely. A thin bit of foam lingers.

The nose is a moderate amount of fresh tart raspberry, not cooked or jammy. There is a ton bit of crackery wheat, and a note of hibiscus.

The palate is fresh tart raspberry upfront, which pushes all the way through to the finish. Thin wheat malt is crackery and ghost-like. The carbonation is pretty active and fizzy and moves the beer quickly across the palate; the beer is a bit thin and watery, but it's very refreshing/thirst-quenching and comes across almost like raspberry-flavored sparkling water. It's just mildly tart with low acidity, only a faint salinity, crisp on the finish and ending with a note of hibiscus, and slight lingering raspberry.

Overall, a solid raspberry gose. It's not as pungently raspberry-forward as I would prefer--in fact, it seems more restrained that their other goses--but it's certainly not a bad beer and is still quite enjoyable. It would be perfect in warm weather.
