Notes / Commercial Description:
By adding rose hips to the boil and fresh raspberry puree at the end of fermentation, this kettle-soured beer is a mélange of flavors and aromas. With a light ruby hue, subtle raspberry fruit notes greet the nose and fall soft on the palate; tangy, hibiscus-like flavors mingle with the salty tartness of gose to create a uniquely complex and refreshing drinking experience.

Just when I was getting burnt out on the holy gose and blood orange, here this one comes along and reminds me why I love Anderson valley. This beer is readily available at most of my local bottle shops and is not hard to find. Smell is light funk, taste is a mild raspberry tart and so light it’s almost like drinking a sprite. Great beer, grab it if you see it!

A - Typical hazy orange body, mostly transparent, a minimal head fades immediately, and no lacing.

S - Strong raspberry hit, pungent, with an underlying lactic acidity.

T - Following the nose, a bright fully realized raspberry flavor, joined by yogurt tang and juicy acidic close.

M - Strong carbonation, punchy tart finish.

O - Another stellar entry in the AV gose family. Delicious.

What is this! A pink like golden color from the pour with a super crackly white heade of soft foam that dies off quickly.

Smells of refreshing floral sweetness.

Sweet bitter and tart all come out on the taste. A bit of salinity on the taste as well.

Mouth feel is light and tart. Puckering towards the back end. And maybe a bit sticky on the back of the throat.

Another good Gose from Anderson Valley. Seems like these guys always get these beers right but just with some odd additions. This one really works for me.

Pink grapefruit in color with a light haze and effervescent carbonation. Poured with a sort, bright, bubbly foam, that reduced to a soapy cap with medium low retention. Medium pilsner malt aromas. Medium light bodied with effervescent, crisp, refreshing carbonation. Tart berry flavors with dry saltiness from the beginning that expand through the middle. Tartness peaks toward the end leaving light floral notes, malty and salty flavors followed by tart and sweet berry and cherry notes. Tart, dry and very refreshing. A great hot summer brew.

First time seeing this in stores and I picked it up. It just sounded good. Online description read, “By adding rose hips to the boil and fresh raspberry puree at the end of fermentation, this kettle-soured beer is a mélange of flavors and aromas. With a light ruby hue, subtle raspberry fruit notes greet the nose and fall soft on the palate; tangy, hibiscus-like flavors mingle with the salty tartness of gose to create a uniquely complex and refreshing drinking experience.” Was looking forward to it.

Poured a light amber mostly hazy color with 1-to-2 fingers of frothy off-white head. Lots of bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass at varying speeds. Good watery lacing. Very good retention. (Sight - 4.00)

Smelled raspberry puree, picked raspberry, raspberry jelly, cranberry, cherry, floral and rose blossom. Was getting that salt a little bit and it seemed boozier than 4.2 pct. overall. More raspberry from the can. (Smell - 4.25)

Taste followed the nose. Got raspberry puree, raspberry donut jelly, cranberry, cherry, rose petals, floral, saline, lactose, perfume, tart lemon and picked mixed berries. (Taste - 4.25)

Light body. Oily texture. Lively carbonation. Salty, fruity finish. (Feel - 4.00)

Wow, thought this was going to be good and it lived up to my hype. Clean and refreshing, and very drinkable. Excellent. (Overall - 4.25)
