Poleeko Pale Ale is an exceptionally flavorful and well-balanced beer. With a bright, citrus hop profile and mild malt flavors reminiscent of English biscuits, the aromas of pink grapefruit and lemon zest compliment the brisk, balanced finish to create a truly refined American Pale Ale.

Sampled a 12 ouncer, pours a mildly hazy light amber/straw. White head, tiny bubbles, expansive fine lacing and sheeting. Hoppy, grainy APA, nose is mildly hoppy with a hint of butter. Medium bodied, not much of a mouthfeel, abit prickly on the tongue, could use some more of a malt undercarraige . Grainy hops carry the weight here. Grapefruit and peppery. Bitter and dry in the finish. Workable ale, respectable sessioner.

Look: Slightly opaque copper in color with a nice, frothy head that builds and settles to a lid, leaving great lacing on the glass
Aroma: Lemon, orange, floral notes, fresh baked bread, slightly toasted cereal grains, and raw dough
Taste: Dough, citrus fruits, and slightly sweet bready malt kick it off, followed by some nice floral notes that fade in and out. Orange-led citrus fruit regains control and along with bread dough are duo that close it out
Mouthfeel: Full, medium-high carbonation, fairly clean throughout, and minimal if any dryness on the finish – leans soft of anything
Overall: I dig it. I can’t remember the last time I’d had this beer and so was glad to get a chance to tango again. A tasty and solid APA with old-school hop flavors/aromas and a very nice and tasty malt backbone. A great no-nonsense beer that is tasty and refreshing in any situation

Bottle, at the GBBF 2008. Golden colour, moderate head. Very nice hoppy aroma, notes of citrus and tropical fruits. Pleasant hoppy flavour but not overdone, well balanced.

this is money, the kind of pale ale i like both ways, icy cold slugged right from the can, and also poured into a pint glass and sipped slowly as it warms, its just beer for drinking, really well made, light in body for how flavorful it is, and to me simultaneously classic and original. it doesnt have the grain weight of a lot of pale ales from its era, golden in color, nice and clear, and although balanced with plenty of grain character, does not have the sweetness, the richness, the color, nor the body that a lot of these incorporate, and i appreciate it immediately for what it isnt. the hops come through really fresh to me, classically northwestern but not super bitter or anything, light pine but also an herbal tea thing and a clean citrus rush too, very nicely dosed in here, the beer is bold but remains light to drink, i love that. this is clean on the fermentation side, nothing really from the yeast at all, and its very crisp to drink, even refreshing for the style, minimal in a good way in terms of the texture, good and dry. not enough classic pales anymore out there, everyone wants do double dry hop everything, make it hazy, use cryo hops, whatever, i love how timeless and well build and no frills this is, will definitely be buying again, nice to see a little more beer from these guys on the shelves here of late...

Out of the bottle at The Getty, Los Angeles, CA.
Like a drunken night at Chuck E Cheese’s this one actually isn’t all that bad. Floral like the Rose Parade with subtle hop essence like Bugs Bunny on a Xanax.
It’s just aite, and Raul is ok with that.

12oz. bottle poured into a 20oz. wiezen. There is 3" of pure white foam that lasted several minutes, now it has settled to a thick covering with lacing left up the glass. The color leans toward a hazy orange, with lots of fine carbonation.
The aroma is a sweet citrus smell, not strong but more than light. I like it.
The taste is good, citrus , a bit bready, crisp, dry. Very drinkable.
The feel is medium, almost creamy. I think the little bitter dryness hides some of the feel.
This beer is good, not offensive at all, but truly not special. I would never say no to a Poleeko Pale Ale!

Been wanting to drink this for long but has been sold out for quite a while. Anderson Valley is one of my favorite breweries in CA so it was a must to try.
It is really refreshing to drink it, kind of like Sierra Nevada but more bitterness at the rear end. Welcoming, pleasant, rich but still subtle. Dry mouthfeel balanced with a somewhat sweet smell. Reminds you of the depths of the forests around Boontsville with a gentle summer breeze blowing between the trees.
Anderson Valley's greatness lies in its naturality, in the way they can grasp the flavors of nature - when you drink their beers, it is as if you were breathing the air, sipping their stream water and biting into the warm rays of the Californian sun.
This is North California in a bottle. Classic like Sierra Nevada.
