Notes:
Our Hop Ottin’ IPA is brewed and dry-hopped with copious amounts of Columbus and Cascade. This beer is a showcase of the bright citrusy aromas, bold grapefruit and pine-like flavors, and resiny bitterness that hop heads crave. With a brilliant, deep amber color and solid malt backbone, hints of citron, roses, and bergamot climax with a dry, herbal finish in this well-balanced interpretation of a West Coast IPA.

Poured some a 12 oz can into a standard pint glass.
A: Amber body with generous 2 finger head. Great looking beer.
S: Oof. Smells like rotting fruit in a gym sock. Wasn't doing anything for me.
T: Luckily it tastes better than it smells. But this is way too fruity for my tastes.
M: Pretty balanced overall. Not too sticky like some IPAs.
O: Wasn't really impressed with this one, and I doubt I'll seek it out again. So many other better Californian IPAs, IMHO.

Nice looking IPA with an amber color and minimal head. Scent is a bit less bold than I would expect. I'm getting pineapple, citrus and slight melon with a slight malt edge. Nice smooth flavor of citrus and slight pine. Good feel to this beer with a nice mouth coating and yet a crisp finish. No alcohol in the mix. Not very bitter. Quality beer.

Appearance This is a real looker. The dark orange body promises a good malt compliment to this heavy IPA. The head was full and fluffy and came down in shaving cream lumps of foam. This looks like a heavy hitter.
Smell The big, piney resin leads things off here. The hop profile doesnt smell very complex: this is all about the big, pure, unadulterated pine aroma. Even so, I can pick up some creamy malts in the background. Well done at the nose.
Taste Yes, the caramel and toffee malt base picks things up at the taste. Mind you, the hop flavors here are monstrous so its not like youre not getting any hops, but I was very impressed with the way they picked up the balance. I noticed the balance continued to improve as the beer warmed (it took me an hour to drink the bomber).
Mouthfeel This is a big medium in the body and very heavy on the palate. Theres some sharp, satisfying dryness all throughout and, again, a big thumbs up for the balanced feel they managed to get out of this recipe.
Drinkability Drinking this bomber was a wonderful experience. I had low expectations because the label is cheesy and the beer is available in just about every local grocery store, but this was a work of art.

Poured from an undated can: a beautiful and clear deep golden to bronze with a sustained foamy off-white head.
This is an extremely aromatic IPA: upon opening the can, the ale exploded with resiny and fresh citrusy hoppy aromas. Would the flavor follow this explosion?
Well, not really, but I think that is a good thing as this is a balanced, nuanced ale. The hop bitterness is up front with a nice pine-like punch and bittersweet fruit, but there is a very nice, soothing caramel flavor with a faint herbal taste this keep everything balanced.
The body was light to medium with a refreshing, somewhat thin body. The carbonation was surprisingly restrained.
This one was a pleasant surprise - no in your face bitterness, but a flavorful and balanced IPA. It is difficult to believe this ale has a 7.0 ABV; it is dangerously drinkable.
I have passed this one many times while shopping for beer. The cost and no freshness date were the reasons. I am glad I took a chance.

Enjoyed from a 12oz bottle.
Poured a medium amber in color with an average sized, off white head. Hoppy floral and piney aroma. Nice hoppy, piney taste with some floralness. Nice bitter finish with the alcohol content well hidden.

A: Pours a barely opaque orange/gold. White marshmallow fluff looking head that gets thin and uneven over time. Larger bubbled carbonation.
S: Smells like lilies and hops. Some cedar and citrus.
T: Pronounced grapefruit taste with siome classic hop bitterness. I would love it if not for the grapefruit notes. Malt and another taste thats almost meaty.
M: Didn't care too much for it but it wasn't bad by any means. A little too thick for the style in my opinion.
D: I enjoyed it a lot but that grapefruit taste hung around for too long to me. That was the only downside to this beer.

Pours a nice golden retriever color with a small but persistent head. Smells fantastic! Fruity, citrus, & some serious hops. One of the better smelling beers I've had.
Taste very good as well. There's a dryness in it that's a little weird on the back of the throat, but the hops come blazing through. You can definitely catch the taste of the alcohol, too.
Another good drinker. This was a solo picked up as part of a build-your-own six-pack, & I think I'll grab the whole six next time I see it. Good beer!

A: Rich amber color with no real head and thus
a lack of lace. Nice active carbonation.
S: Sweet malts and piney hop nose
T: Sweet piney flavor with undertones of citrus
and graininess.
M/D: Smooth and even bodied, lacking the dryness
of the stronger AIPAs.

Slightly hazy amber poured from a scenic bottle that sports a horny bear. Interesting aroma. At first it reminded me of hints of nail polish remover. It was slightly medicinal in alchohol aroma with bold malt and floral hops mixing in the smells. Tastes of boald toasted malt with floral hop bite finishes with fruity (perhaps plum/raisin sweetness. Bold and full mouthfeel. This drinks well for one or two but not more in my book

This is a fine example of California IPA: hops up front, hops in the back and hops kicking in your teeth.
I'm so glad that my local Trader Joe's always has this in stock. I often pick up a 6 pack, when picking up my strange frozen foods. One stop convenience - I can dig it.
It has a nice color - amber-orange with a frothy head that stays there for hours. The aroma is a bouquet of hops - some floral, some citrus, and some piney. If my girlfriend were to put in writing that she wouldn't leave me - I would concoct some sort of cologne using hops like these. I would smell myself all day long. It would be weird.
The taste is brilliant - all those hops pack a punch. It's a piney taste that is very refreshing, I'm very fond. There's a good deal of booze in there, the 7% ABV is no surprise, still is very drinkable. It goes down very easy.
If you like your IPAs hoppy and lord knows you should - grab a 6 pack of this.

Pours a hazy copper into a pint glass. 2inch foamy head stays for a bit. Wonderful pine scent, maybe cascade hops, very inviting.
Sweet malts in the tongue. Hop bitterness in check. Zesty and spicy. Highly drinkable. My first IPA from a can! Highly recommended!

12 oz. bottle with a funny looking bear sporting antlers
A- Golden-brown with about a finger and a half head. Moderate carbonation.
S- Smells of citrus and pine
T- It had your standard IPA pine and citrus tastes to it. Hoppy like an IPA should be, but this one just wasn't quite as strong as I was hoping it would be. For me it didn't taste all that great until it got to (literally) room temperature. I would have liked this to be more bitter than it is. Like a previous reviewer said, it was almost more like an APA than an IPA because it just wasn't strong enough.
M- Not too heavy, it went along well with the Italian Sausage I was having on a hot summer evening.
D- It's an easy one to drink. It tastes good, I just wish it was a little stronger (it being an IPA and all). I don't think I'll be buying this one again only because there are better IPAs out there for less money.
