Notes / Commercial Description:
Our Hop Ottin’ IPA is brewed and dry-hopped with copious amounts of Columbus and Cascade. This beer is a showcase of the bright citrusy aromas, bold grapefruit and pine-like flavors, and resiny bitterness that hop heads crave. With a brilliant, deep amber color and solid malt backbone, hints of citron, roses, and bergamot climax with a dry, herbal finish in this well-balanced interpretation of a West Coast IPA.

355ml can poured into pint glass 6/4/12

A clear copper with lots of tiny bubbles feeding a tight thumbs width of creme colored foam that hangs on for quite a while leaving several thin rings of lace, foam ends up as a thin film that leaves rings of lace well down the glass, looks perfect

S citric rind with some pine and toffee, smell pretty decent with just a little faint booze

T along the same lines as the smell with less rind but still plenty of citrus

M has a nice bite to it and leaves a fair bit behind on the gums, has some body too it and a long aftertaste of rind and herbal hops

O I'm digging this one, went down pretty fast for 7% oh well I guess I'll enjoy the ride.

a nice bitter IPA that's a great addition to the shelves here in Alberta, I can actually see the 11 sips it took me to slay this one and that's pretty impressive

[Best served in a Shaker glass]

The pour was a clear medium golden amber with some yellow highlights and a large off white rocky head that lasted throughout and had excellent sticky lacing.

The aroma was of straw malts, floral and pine hops and a earthy moldy yeast and had hints of citrus (grapefruit) and honey.

The taste was a nice bitter sweet with a mild hint of honey early on, but quickly became extremely hoppy and heavily bitter with an extra large dose of citrus at the end. The flavor stuck around for a very long time with the hoppy flavor left to linger for an good long time.

Mouthfeel was just beyond light on body and had an extra dry texture with a nice strong lively carbonation.

Overall a superbly hopped up brew: Nuff Said...

a: nice clear copper body with a thick and creamy two finger head that leaves loads of lacing as it shrinks.

s: very floral with hints of pine and citrus. a little fresh chopped wood and malts.

t: flowery and earthy. too much pine and wood for me. not much citrus in the taste, but plenty of caramel malts.

m: medium body, good carbonation. long dry chewy finish. a little oily/resiny.

o: started out excited, but quickly turned to unfavorable for me. other than the looks and smell this beer does nothing for me. however if you like your ipas more pine than citrus tthis is the beer for you.
