Brewed by:
Anderson Valley Brewing Company
California, United States

Style: American IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 7.00%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
Our Hop Ottin’ IPA is brewed and dry-hopped with copious amounts of Columbus and Cascade. This beer is a showcase of the bright citrusy aromas, bold grapefruit and pine-like flavors, and resiny bitterness that hop heads crave. With a brilliant, deep amber color and solid malt backbone, hints of citron, roses, and bergamot climax with a dry, herbal finish in this well-balanced interpretation of a West Coast IPA.

Great IPA! One of my favorite. Taste and the smell really stand out from the other IPAs

It pours with a huge ice cream scoop of a head that goes over the rim of the glass. Smells amazing with sharp citrus pine and that floral perfume smell. This beer really gives Green Flashes West Coast IPA some competition. It starts with hop fruitiness from the cascade hop then has a long piney and sharp citrus bitter finish. It's so rich and thick with potent hops that it digs deep into your taste buds. It also gives a peppery resinous hop flavor and finish as well. The malt backing which tastes like toffee and honey brown bread is quite amazing. A lot better than most IPA's where they almost forget about how crucial it is to have a good malt flavor in an IPA. I was expecting just a really bitter IPA but instead got a really bitter IPA with a complex pungent taste that has a pureness to it that most beers lack.
