On tap at Tony's Darts Away in Burbank, CA.

Pours a hazy golden-orange with a foamy beige head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is slightly sour with wheat, grain, fruit, and acidic aromas. Taste is much the same with sour grain, fruit, wood, and acidic flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above average beer that is drinkable, but there is an odd acidic quality in the flavor that diminishes the drinkability.

Draft at Beer Revolution in Calgary,
Pours slightly hazy, gold amber color, with foamy, creamy colored head. Foam slowly fades, lace chunks.
It smells of some yeast and grain husks, slightly fruity and sour at the same time.
The taste is grainy to start, sourness throughout. Good pale ale base, then fruity and funky.
Lots of carbonation, medium body, tingly yeasty finish.
Good mix of funky yeast and sourness, very interesting. I liked it, but not for everyone.

Effervescent golden brown pour alive with bubbles. A thin head builds up along the sides of the glass and lingers for a few minutes. Aroma of toasted malt, sour apple, lemon and tart cherries. Taste is lemon, sour apple, green apple, sour cherries, must, wood. Dry, tannic feel with the woodiness taking over towards the end of the sip. Zesty, funky, woody and grainy.

Enjoyed 8 oz. on tap at Beer Revolution in Calgary, part of the recent sour beer festival at this establishment. Arrived a coppery bronze color with a single finger of flimsy soapy white head.

Aroma is very pungent, equal parts sour fruit and cheesy funk. On the palate I am getting fresh lemon and lime rinds, gooseberry, green apples and pears, white vinegar, salty brine, and white cheese, a brettanomyces-laden treat. Very dry and astringent, although there is a subtle custard-like sweetness somewhere underneath. Quite fizzy and almost gritty, with a mid-range body and some peppery wheat spice in the sour and woody finish.

I'd say this brew is on the decidedly sour end of the spectrum, with some admirable cheesy "barnyard" type funk. Not for the faint of heart. For some reason I was expected something more tame.

8oz glass at Beer Revolution's sourfest.

This beer appears a foggy, medium copper amber colour, with one finger of frothy, loosely foamy, and weakly creamy dirty white head, which leaves a bit of streaky island group lace around the glass as things evenly fade away.

It smells of musty, faintly sour cherries and red apples, semi-sweet grainy wheat malt, generic menthol lozenges, and a bit of mild white Italian cheese. The taste is gritty, grainy, and bready pale and wheat malt, vaguely tart red orchard fruit, still tame earthy white cheese, a soft barnyard funkiness, and further well-aged lemon vinegar.

The carbonation is actually active and involved in probing my various palates, the body an adequate medium weight, and so-so in the way of the smooth. It finishes off-dry, a lingering grainy wheatiness well contained by the affable, if persistent funk.

Now we're starting to talk turkey - the funk supercedes the sour in this one, which is all right by me at this point in time. I do indeed like this one, and not just because it reminds me so much of my favorite cheese.
