In the 16 oz tulip. Attractive golden amber color with very nice lacing. Tart and spicy. Starts with a good dose of sweetness. Hops come on with a modest biterness. Ends on a dry and scratchy note. The malt is quite pleasant with the light body and makes for good drinkability, if less intrigue.

Not a bad Saison. A more watery and quaffable version than most. Great with hot shrimp and sausage gumbo at Local Habit in San Diego. Like throwing gasoline on the fire.

On-tap at the brewery. 5.8%

Served a fairly clean golden color with a bright white head that faded into a good collar leaving wispy, spotty lace. I get notes of peppery Belgian spices, cloves, citrus and bubblegum yeast on the nose. Flavors include all of those plus some cracked grains and earthy hops in the finish. Yeast is earthy, and I might detect a hint of mint? Mouth is slightly bitter but definitely refreshing, drying, and clean all around. I loved the flavors in this one and thought it was a solid saison.

Note: Also had on tap at The Blind Tiger NYC. Poured into a tulip.

A: Hazy amber, with a quick paper white head.

S: Airy and effervescent. Pilsner malt and citrus, with a definitive belgian spice aroma.

T: First flavor profile is of plum, corriander, wheat, and cherry. Second notes are of apple, fig, pilsner malt and candied belgian sugar. A bit sweet and slightly sour, with a dry finish.

M: Light body, with high carbonation.

O: More of a summer time beer than when i had it in january in NYC. Complex flavor profile, but still refreshing and light. A really good beer.

#2 of my saison quest.

Had this on tap at Blind Tiger Ale House. It poured with a light amber with a large foamy white head that left a bit of lacing. It has a pretty dull nose with note of floral spices and a bit of apricot. The taste had a touch of funk good tart fruits and a touch of roasted malts for good measure. Crisp mouthfeel with good carbonation. I would be able to enjoy this over and over. Kind of like Domain DuPage. Good effort!
