Brewed by:
Anderson Valley Brewing Company
California, United States

Style: American Double / Imperial IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 8.70%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
Brewed with a heelch* of Columbus, Chinook, and Cascade hops, our double IPA has a palate pleasing bitterness that is carefully balanced with a full-bodied malt foundation. With a deep color of polished brass and a nose that sings of pink grapefruit and redwood needles, the rich biscuit-like malt flavors intertwine with hints of vanilla, mangos, and peppercorns leading to a deep, warming finish. (*That’s Boontling for “a whole lot”)

A stable West Coast IPA with no major frills. Feels soft and smooth on the palate despite having high abv.

A: perfectly clear, amber with just a little red. Great lasting head.

S: pretty potent flowery smell. Smells like a very promising dipa.

T: good hoppiness, with a slight malty finish. In all honesty, I would expect a little hoppier for a dipa, but still nice.

M: very smooth. A good lasting taste of hops.

O: not a bad beer from Anderson valley. It was a little steep at $3 a bottle, but it's worth a try.

A: orange. Clear. Thick, foamy, off-white head.

S: orange. Faint pine. Faint grain aroma.

T: citrus, pine, biscuit. Alcohol. Pine resin.

M: medium carbonation. Medium body. Sweet.

O: meh. Has a pretty harsh aftertaste that lingers. Not great. Not horrible. The bitterness at the end ruins it.
