Notes:
With a brilliant, deep copper hue and creamy beige-colored head, our Fall Hornin’ Pumpkin Ale has inviting aromas of caramelized malt and baking bread with highlights of cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin and seasonal spices. The pleasantly creamy mouthfeel and silky body embrace the sweet caramel flavors and tang of spices (with just hint of hops) that ends in a smooth, round finish.

A: The beer is clear dark reddish amber in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high light beige colored head that died down but consistently left a short head covering the surface and lots of lacy rings of bubbles down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of cinnamon are present in the nose along with hints of nutmeg.
T: Like the smell, cinnamon stands out in the taste from start to finish, which also has notes of nutmeg and hints of pumpkins. The nutmeg is most noticeable towards the back end of the taste. No sweetness is present.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This is a nice beer if you like cinnamon but it doesn't have much in the way of having pumpkin aromas and flavors.

i like it all except the body here. quite a few watery drinking pumpkin ales this year, not sure why, but i like them heavier than this one. despite its darker amber look, its so fizzy and thin that it feels more like a soda than a beer. the head is like a soda float too, huge bubbles and a lot of carbonation activity in this. the flavor of the beer is great though. a hit of ginger in there with the nutmeg and the pumpkin. nicely selected amber malt base, which i think is the right platform for these flavors, i just want it to be a bigger contributor to the feel. white pepper and brown sugar i the finish, if this had more body to stand on it would be a real impressive brew. just enough hops to balance the finish too, i think the recipe is close to being a real winner.

Dark roasted malts bring out a nice deep nearly black mahogany blood red hue with a tan khaki head forming nice and thick, great looking darker pumpkin ale. Fine speckled lacing evenly spread with each sip, love the look of the beer in the glass.
Aroma sweet pumpkin pie notes, graham cracker character, darker roasts bring out some caramel…this is one of the best pumpkin ales I’ve had this season up there with Elysian. Rich caramelization, muted spice notes goes so well together with the pumpkin flesh found in this one.
Flavor darker roasts added some much needed dryness in this beer, which balances out the sweet caramelized malt sugars with the pumpkin additions. Spices are there but not stealing the show away, a quality breadiness derived from malt additions mimics a graham cracker crust in a pumpkin pie.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied even flowing carbonation with nice even character. This goes down easy with each sip, very smooth balanced pumpkin ale.
Overall, it’s an easy going great tasting pumpkin beer that doesn’t way you down in anyway…very nice beer here folks.

Dark rich burnt reddish brown in color with a very light brown to tan head that lasts, leaving a decent lacing behind. I liked the look of this glass of beer. Nice pumpkin pie spices in the aroma, has Thanksgiving written all over it. Lighter pumpkin pie taste, seems a bit washed out, especially compared to the aroma and look.

Pours a hazy super dark orange-brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of earthy malt and pumpkin pie spice aromas. Taste is much the same with dirt and pumpkin pie spice flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of spice bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above average beer with a solid pumpkin pie spice aroma but there is an odd dirt-like flavor that I am not too fond of.

Served in a pin glass.
Appearance: Dark brown color with heavy bubbles o the body...off-white head with a slight orange tint to it rising to just under a finger's length.
Smell: Light pumpkin squash and light nutmeg, seriously just a touch.
Taste: Of course it tastes like pumpkin but comes off bitter and feels a bit more like a amber mixed with spoonful of light nutmeg. A slight sweet in the beginning but dissipates quickly.
Mouth: Carbonation is definitely medium to heavy. Not really that sticky if you ask me. Finish has feel of slight roasted hops.
Overall: Not a bad beer, very easy to drink but no where near the top of the food chain when it comes to pumpkin beers. It's good to have for the moment and definitely still better than some other beers that try "harder". Salud!
