Sampled on tap at Boylan Bridge just after they opened.

A - Amber with good clarity and almost no head. Some lacing.

S - Toasted malt but not a lot.

T - A balanced flavor of toasted malt and hop bitterness.

M - Moderate consistency and carbonation.

D - A decent beer but not outstanding. This review was done the day after they opened. Maybe it'll get better as they gain experience.

Clear, deep copper-ish color with a modest, sticky head that leaves some decent lacing. Leafy, peppery hop aroma giving way to some biscuit and tea notes as it warms up. Bitter and spicy hops on the tongue. Medium bodied, dry, and pretty refreshing. I had one and decided to stick with it for a couple more. I'm not a huge fan of most of Boylan's offerings, but this one hits the spot out on the patio.

A: The beer is clear copper in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a few bubbles floating on the surface.
S: There are faint aromas of pale malts in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of caramel malts and a medium amount of bitterness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
D: The beer goes down very smoothly; I could easily have a few of these in one night.

tap

Pours copper with a whitish head that goes to lacing.

Mild hop aroma, a bit dull.

Flavor of honey and surprisingly mild hop bitterness.

Moderate body and tingly carbonation.

A good pale ale that is refreshing and only a little lacking in the nose. Otherwise, though nothing special, it is enjoyable and worth a try. I would have this again.

On-tap at the brewpub and consumed on their patio on a hot summer afternoon. Served in a standard pint-glass a crisp orange with a thin head that quickly diminishes to nothing. Aroma is subtle sweet malts and bitter hops. The taste holds true to the style, nice bitter finish backed up by slight sweet malts. The beer is quite light and refreshing. This is an enjoyable brew.

On tap at the pub. Nice orange/amber color with good head and nice lacing. Was hoping to have their IPA but it was not on tap so the waiter said this would be closest to an IPA. I would say he wasn't to far off, it was a nice balance of hops, and malts. Very refreshing for a nice spring day on the deck.

Enjoyed at the brewery, reviewed from notes.

This is actually an ESB I think.

A: single finger head with excellent lacing on a clear amber golden body.

S: light musty grains and breads.

T: caramel malts, slight sweet presence and mild earthy hop bitterness.

M: medium body and moderate carbonation.

Overall: standard beer for the bitter style. Nothing very special or disappointing.
