This is a Jeppe rec from Olbutiken.

This is one of the more common beers aged in an oak cask that was soaked in whisky. The euros are trying some interesting stuff with non aged oak barrels.

Pours a very dark black with about two fingers of ligh tan head, good retention and lacing...The aroma is very strong, lots of the oak presents on the front(in a good way, but with time this will die down a bit and probably be oustanding smelling). The whisky is present and constant from start to finish like a fridge humming in the background, not to strong, just enough...The taste is very smooth, again constant whisky start to finish, oak on the front, then in the middle becomes really harsh which is the only downside to this beer, but again with time this probably goes away a lot. The finish has a hint of sourness which is a shock. There is also tons of chocolate here, surprising since none was on the nose. Its actually pretty sweet, vanilla comes in too. A ton going on in the taste...The feel is also really nice, a very warm finish, tannic and sturdy.

This is a really interesting concept that turns out a great beer. If in Copenhagen I would get several drink one now, then sit on the rest for a year.
