Tastes like a craft brew version of a cheap malt liquor like Steel Reserve. Not saying there's not a time and place for this kind of brew, but probably not the one you want to reach for if you're looking for a more refined quaffing experience :)

"Like the perfect color of amber" my wife just said, as she saw me examining my pint glass in the light. Smell is subtle with citrus/malt-sweetness, the 1st sip was interesting, missing expected off-aftertastes. Finishes surprisingly clean. Low (or maybe well-masked) bitterness. This may be due to the cryo (sub-freezing temp) treatment of the hops, whatever that may do. The difference is almost as striking as the difference between regular and nitro taps. This beer is very easy to drink, and the elevated alcohol content is perfectly couched. I wish they had done this with a less citrusy hop (they used Simcoe) but that is my personal taste. The flavor profile is simple as opposed to complex. I am looking forward to trying other cryo-hopped brews in the future, preferably with piney or spicy hops next time. Very good beer.

Clear gold with three fingers of off white head. Head lasts about ten minutes. Some lace.
Smell is melon and floral.
Taste is malty dank floral hops with melon.
Mouthfeel is medium with strong carbonation. The finish is lightly dry and medium bitter.
Overall a tasty brew.

Attractive appearance poured in the tall goblet, with long lasting foam on the clear amber brew. Orange and mango aroma is nice, but not very beery. Thickish mouthfeel, though heartily carbonated. Sweet, even candy-like.

Green beans and jelly beans. Overall this is such a sugary stew and the aftertaste is so bitter it's hard to drink. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Haggen Market.

Poured from bottle into a snifter glass
Appearance – The beer pours a hazy golden-orange color with a one finger head of billowy white foam. The head has a good level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a moderate sum of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is big of tropical fruits with lots of pineapple, papaya and mango with some orange and tangerine citrus smells mixed in as well. Along with these aromas comes some notes of melon and bread, along with a bit of a pine smell.
Taste – The taste begins with little bit of the tropical and citrus sweetness that was detected in the nose, all being balanced out by some cracker and bready flavors. There are some citrus hop tastes upfront, which match the fruit rather well, with these increasing a bit as the taste advances and being joined by some flavors of herb and grass. The bready taste almost completely fades toward the end of the taste and the fruitiness seems to lose some potency in sugar, but not fruit taste (as odd as that sounds). With the lightening of the bready and the sweet dying out a bit, as well as with a little more hop of an earthy nature coming to the tongue, one is left with a somewhat crisp and moderately hopped taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel- The body of the brew is on the slightly thinner and crisper side for a beer of 8.7 % with a carbonation level that is rather high. Overall the feel is rather well done, and for the mix of lighter malt, moderate fruit and hop, and 8.7% abv, it. makes for a good robust, but easy drinking feel.
Overall – I actually really enjoyed this brew. It has a wonderful hop blend that is citrusy but still dank with a fruity taste that isn’t overly sweet. Well done!!

Soft hops tones, not in your face like some Imperials can be. smooth taste without bitterness on the back end. Very enjoyable and one I will certainly plan to have again in the future.
