Cool vibrancy to the orange pour, 1.5" head looks quite the part. Aroma was minimally hoppy, slightly disappointed by the lack of a better dry hop aroma. My standards are high for ipa's and aroma.

Taste, not bad, ample bitterness, better hop mouthfeel than aroma. Plenty of grassy and pine mixed in there. Good feel of customary hops and a nuance of new (simcoe?). They don't skimp on the bittering/flavoring hops, just maybe the aroma, but there's no dating on the label so who knows. Light enough body.

A good but not great ipa. Worth checking it out when it is $5 or less for a bomber.

16oz pint, on-tap at Henry's Tavern in downtown Portland, Oregon.

This beer appears a slightly hazy, pale golden amber hue, with one finger of broadly foamy, somewhat bubbly and yet kind of creamy off-white head, which leaves a wall of filmy lace around the glass as it quickly sinks away.

It smells of watery orange and white grapefruit citrus, softly bready caramel malt, further indistinct tropical fruit, and more piney, herbal hops. The taste is an immediate upgrade (no offense to the aroma), with some bitterly resinous pine, acrid citrus rind, crackery and faintly toasty caramel/toffee malt, a touch of grassy, floral hops, and maybe a wee bit of warming alcohol.

The carbonation is moderate in its swirling and probing frothiness, the body more or less average (I'm becoming stats-worthy) in weight, and fairly smooth, those hops taking a well-earned breather here. It finishes off-dry, but with the hops certainly still calling the shots.

It doesn't always have to be this way, but it's still rather nice when a beer gets better as the pint moves along. A big, brash west coast American IPA, is what we have here, and it's even better once the late afternoon music kicks in, while the easy-drinking bitterness continues to tickle my sundry senses.

Appearance - Pours slightly hazy and golden in color with a white, finger width head. Good retention, breaking down to a thin, consistent layer of suds across the top. Great lacing consisting of broken webbing winding it's way around the glass and a few spots found between.

Smell - Tropical aroma that's more pineapple than orange, along with hints of grass, pine and spice. Crackery malt undertone.

Taste - Follows the nose. Hops hit on mild pineapple character and some orange skin. Malts are distant, providing a light crackery and slightly grainy taste that's hardly noticeable.

Mouthfeel - Light-to-medium in body with moderate carbonation. Lightly velvety texture with a semi-dry finish.

Overall - Decent IPA, but lacks depth of flavor. It's easy to drink in the least and should work well for my upcoming rafting trip.

Golden color with a bit of haze. Aroma is balanced between the malts and hops, making you think of sweet citrus fruits. Taste starts also balanced and gets quite bitter in the finish. Hop profile is the classic west coast style with citrus fruits and pine. Pretty good IPA overall.

Pours a thin head on a hazy lighter straw body.
The aroma has orange, lemon, grapefruit, pine and background mango all wonderfully mixed up.
The taste is ramped up orange and grapefruit bitterness starting at the beginning with a long bitter finish.
The texture is crisp.
It's super hopped.
