Just an average IPA. Light golden straw color. Aroma was mild and not very exhilarating. Average flavor. Highest score on the feel. It did go down smooth and was not to heavy on a warm California day.

Can from Winco. Pours out a cloudy darkish amber and small creamy beige head. Aroma is hops, not big, but dominates the nose. Taste also features hop bitterness. Two knocks against: metallic taste and finish and kind of watery body. Good, but not great.

Clear golden orange with a thin, short lived white head.

Pleasant mix of light resiny and citric hops.

Nothing particularly unique or memorable in the wide world of IPA's, but still a solid, well done example anyways.

I don't know what there is to say about this other than this may be your quintessential northwestern IPA. A flash of malty-sweetness eclipsed by bitter hops. Not especially fruity, not especially herbal. Down the middle.

Orange color with over an inch of white head. Looks very good. Aroma didn't kick enough dry hop notes. In fact, I could question any dry hopping at all in this one.

Ample grapefruit style bitterness. Gave some mixture of leaves, grass and pine needles. Excessive crystal malt (which is pretty much anything more than 5%) makes the mouthfeel heavier than need be.

Bomber format makes this not a repeat purchase. If it was $7/6 pack, sure, but not for a 22oz.

Can to nonic pint glass. The appearance was a hazy amber to orange color with a one finger white head. It quickly dissipates to leave light lacing roaming around in a mess sort of way. The smell started off with a crisp pine to lead into some tropical fruits, caramel malt, and then light honey. The taste was mildly sweet with light bitterness from the pine to stroll in to balance. There’s no aftertaste but it had a crisp sweet to bitter pine finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionable oily texture. Overall, its a good AIPA that I could come back to.

Got this one at Bert’s Bierhuis in Utrecht

From a bomber into a snifter
IBU: 90

APPEARANCE: Pours a two finger, medium looking white head with decent retention. Head fades to a foamy cap and clings to the sides of the glass. Hazy gamboge body with lower levels of carbonation evident. A half wisp remains leaving some nice splotchy lacing down the glass.

SMELL: Pineapple, mango, citrus lemon and grapefruit on the nose. Pale malts and honeydew melon as well. Much like their imperial IPA.

TASTE: Piney in flavor. More so than the nose had lead on. Pale malts, mango sweetness and piney hops up front. Bitterness at the swallow, moving into a lingering and flavorful finish of grapefruit, citrus, piney hops and more hop bitterness. A hint of mango sweetness is there, but this is more dominated by the piney, bitter hops.

PALATE: Medium body and medium levels of carbonation. Very creamy on the palate, goes down smooth and finishes a touch dry on the palate. Very nice. Some bitterness lingers.

OVERALL: This is very bitter, though luckily it is not simply bitter for the sake of being bitter. There is more than enough hop flavors here to make this one a very enjoyable brew, but at this ABV, it could be a touch less bitter so as to let some of the malt and hop flavor play a larger role. The nose showed more depth and variety here than the flavor profile, which was too dominated by the bitterness. Still, this is an enjoyable brew, just not all that complex.
