Hop Valley is always one of my favorites with their Alpha Centauri leading the pack. This is their everyday beer; very good on tap. They don't say which hops is cooked into this one, but it feels like Chinook and Cascade...tropical, fruity but still with a distinct hop bite. I haven't tasted the double version of this beer but it should be interesting with 9.6 ABV and 96 IBUs
This one comes in at 6.7% ABV and 90 IBUs
Alpha Centauri is still my beer from this brewery, but for $27/24 cans at Costco this is hard to beat for your everyday beer; not a lawnmower

This pours a light caramel amber. I get an earthy piney note on the aroma. Drying pine and lime pith on the palate. All around decent IPA. Came in a can.

Look: Golden and clear with a white one inch head
Smell: smells like a generic IPA. Citrus, pine, basil, pale malt
Taste: This is where things get awful for me. Tastes exactly how I would imagine dawn dish soap to taste. Cloyingly sweet with a medicinal bitterness and a very harsh grain taste. The hops are there, but are not very aromatic.
Feel: medium full bodied. Too thick for my tastes
Overall: One of my least favorite IPAs I've tried in the PNW.

12 oz. can:

Pours slightly hazed golden with a foamy white head that becomes patchy. Broken rings of lacing stick.

The smell is of citrus, pine/resin, black pepper. Some caramelized grain/bread in the back.

The taste is of citrus/pine with an herbal bitterness in the finish.

Carbonation is a bit fast at first, but slows down to become slightly understated. But it is smooth and has a nice body to it.

Some alcohol shows. Some bitterness lingers.

A refreshing, hop-forward IPA.
