Drank out of a plastic cup at a cheap ass hotel in Newport, OR. This a very aromatic big beer with the 9% alcohol well hidden. Aromas and taste of pine and sweet citrus. Taste has residual sweetness to go with the malt. A very nice big ipa. First beer from this local brewery.

Pour: Bomber bottle into a tulip glass. Appearance: Clear with a light amber color. Thin white head and minimal lacing present. Aroma: Hoppy citrus. Taste: Very hoppy with some bite. Slight citrus on the sip. Aftertaste: Ends surprisingly with more punch. Very dank citrus and pine. Flavor really becomes apparent on the back end. Overall: A little subtle on the front end but the back end is worth it! Very good. 4.04 out of 5.

Pours a hazy orange/amber colored ale with a good amount of head that fades somewhat.

Aroma is dank hops, orange, light pineapple and more citrus. Pretty nice blend here.

The taste is amazingly easy to drink for 100 IBU's. The blend of sweet malt with bitter hops is awesome. Not overpowering in any element. The aftertaste is like when I lick the inside rind of a grapefruit....not that I ever have done that of course.

Overall this was a mighty fine session and a very, very smooth Imperial IPA. The blend works well and is actually quite refreshing. Big flavor and worth seeking out.

On tap at Saraveza in Portland

Appearance - pours a lightly transparent amber, medium head and retention

Smell - pine and floral hops

Taste - pine and floral hops, resinous, big malt body, but hop forward

Mouthfeel - big body, good carbonation, slightly dry finish, balanced body

Overall - good hop profile, big brew, could be a bit hopper but well done

If New England IPA gets to be a beer category, NW IPA should be considered one as well, or at least West Coast. As Bridgeport likes to put it: "Where the revolution began." That big, resinous, citrus & pine flavor. This hazy, orange beer definitely resembles that. Along with some spice, and herbal notes. Some bread malt to balance things out. Aroma follows suit. A bit of alcohol vapor. Could be a bit smoother, but nonetheless, always a good bargain for a 22 oz bottle.

Maybe I'm a little biased since I got this on vacation to Portland but I know Oregon is hop central of the US and I mean bitter tasty hops. So that's what I expected when I picked this up and that's what it delivered. That's your regional flavor entirely and if you like NW US hops this is your beer. I usually favor the milder DIPA types but expecting a piney bitter brew this nailed it. Just wish I could pick it up in Houston...

Small wispy head leaves behind lacing after each drink. Smells tropical. Taste is very hop forward as you woulf expect. Tropical notes through and a bitterness that lingers on the palate. A solid beer.

Poured into a Gulden Draak tulip. Pours a medium orange amber with a one finger fine white head with good retention and good lacing. Looks excellent. Aroma of aromatic herbal and piney hops, pineapple and light fruit. Nice citrus, caramel malt up front, fairly complex hop combination on the finish which is slightly dry compared to the start. Very tasty, lingering hop finish. Great medium, almost creamy body. I like this one a lot and will buy it again.
