Notes: Natural apricot flavour is married to barley and wheat malts to give St-Ambroise Apricot Wheat Ale its uniquely delicious, subtly sweet taste. A natural, delightfully refreshing choice for adventurous palates that appreciate a light ale with a playful twist.

on tap at the toronto festival of beer....
WOW.
It had never before occurred to me that apricots would make a good beer flavour. The colour is just on the orange side of golden - almost perfect for the fruit. The smell is very smooth. The taste is outstanding. Apricots are a relatively bland fruit fresh, I find, but this translates into an amazing smooth taste. It doesn't knock you over the head with sweetness like a kriek or tartness like a framboise. The fruit flavour is dominant with a smooth malt taste underneath. the mouthfeel is as smooth as the taste, I could drink this stuff endlessly.
Now I just have to find somewhere I can buy this!

Edit:
Two years more knowledge of beer, and I feel I need to re-evaluate this... It's a great beer, but the 4.9 I gave it was too high. A rich, soft, velvety apricot flavour is intermingled with wheat edging and some biting freshness. A very well integrated fuit beer. There's no doubt that it's a real beer....
