picked up at a dep on parc a few days ago, the clerk said they got their first shipment that very day.

Look: Hazy straw, pour gives me three fingers of foamy off-white head that falls slowly, very nice lacing.

Smell: grapefruit, glorious hops, citrus, pine

Taste: is it the perfect DIPA? naw, overall well balanced but a bit piney for me

Mouthfeel: a tad under-carbonated

Overall: a good addition by one of my favourite canadian breweries

A: A golden yellow that just slightly borders on orange. One finger of very creamy looking white head. Excellent retention. Thick rings of lacing indicate when each sip was taken.

S: Hops. Definitely of the west coast variety. Chinook.

T: Once again hops are definitely the most present thing, which is almost a redundant statement given the fact that its a DIPA. I get a signifcant portion of pine, not overly pungent like pine sol, but a pleasing pine. Citrus fruit is also there. The malt backbone of the beer is just that, a backbone. It doesn't really stand out but more provides a framework. I also detect some kind of buttery/butterscotch like flavors. Most likely due to diacetly perhaps from a improper fermentation. Its slight but more apparent as the beer warms.

M: Nicely bodied but still fairly dry and drinkable. It could be very easy to drink this beer quickly. Alcohol is barely noticeable (although likely covered by hops).

O: I thought this beer was great. I will most likely be picking some up in the future and could envision myself drinking it frequently. A decent bit better then the IPA from them, although I think i'll probably revisit that one as well.

Pours a very clear golden / amber color with a bright white frothy head that dissipates rather quickly.

The smell is very strong with resinous pine and citrus, mostly pineapple and grapefruit... A bit of honey sweetness with maybe a little maple syrup as well.

The taste is very bitter and piney at first from the hops... citrus notes of grapefruit and pineapple with a candy sweetness before a dry finish.

I did notice the alcohol come out as it warmed, but not too much that it was overpowering.

Overall, a pretty good Double IPA.. not a phenomenal beer, but a good and well balanced one.

Cheers!
