I think this may have been from a nitro-tap. Poured from a growler into an imperial pint glass. Beer is jet black with a very dark, 2 finger head that leaves some lacing. Smells of sweet oats with hops, coffee, and chocolate following right behind. The beer has a hop bitterness up front with a milky sweetness. Chocolate, coffee, and dark fruit flavors are in the background. The 33 IBUs leave a bitterness in the mouth for several minutes. Feels crisp at first, but the carbonation eases as the pint warms. Body is heavy and the malts are chewy but it is still easy to drink. Went well with both spaghetti and a chocolate dessert. Very tasty. Would definitely fill the growler with this again.
