750ml->chimay goblet
A ~ Pours Ruby with just a touch of head, fizzling down into a faint spiral & subtle ring around the outer edge. Good lacing.

S ~ Large amounts of grain, juicy plums, simple syrup, apricot & grape jelly.

T ~ Bready Malts & Grapes... Sugar, Pale fruit, Banana Chips. A good amount of Spicy hops on the finish that remind me this is an American-Belgian. There's also apple-core & dried fruit upon warming, as well as more phenols lending Cassia & Clove.

M ~ Body is bready & fruity with just a little bit of boozy heat. Finish is semi-dry & sticky.

D ~ This is a brew that is truly better on tap. . . right now at least. This can & will mature in the bottle, but it needs time. Otherwise this is a great beer. It's really fantastic on Nitro.

Gorgeous copper/red color as poured from a 12 ounce can. Tiny head. Aroma typical for a Belgian that smells awesome. Taste is excellent. Somewhat fruity and no bitterness. Smooth and smoother. Very nice for a 10 percent-er. My local BJ's Brew house bartender tells me they are getting this one on draft. I'll be excited to try this from the keg. I find it highly drinkable and recommend this one to all my BA brothers.
Brought to you by the makers of HORNY TOAD BLONDE. Git ya some and git her done!

Received this in a trade as an extra. Way too much malt for me. Minimal hop aromas/general flavor. Could have easily confused this for a barley wine in a blind taste test. Extremely unbalanced and boozy for a 10% abv beer.

On tap. Poured into a tulip glass. Hazy light copper color with medium head. Leaves nice lacing. Primary smell of roasted malt with a slight caramel undertone. Smooth malt and slightly fruity taste on front with a sweet ending consisting of caramel and vanilla. Light carbonation and medium mouth feel, and the alcohol is well hidden. Much better on tap than bottled.
Good belgium strong but not great. I'd like a little more depth in taste but must admit it's extraordinary in smoothness and hiding boozey-ness.

Rather expensive for a 4-pack of 12oz cans, this beer was underwhelming. Belgian Dark Strong is one of my favorite categories for it's strong malt backbone, but this was rather vinous instead. A good beer it's own right, just not as true-to-style and rather lackluster in that respect.

750 mL bottle poured into a wine glass.

Appearance - Deep copper. Hazy with a big cream colored head.

Smell - Bananas and cloves. Deep caramel. Some fruitiness. Alcohol.

Taste - Tastes very nice up front. Banana and clove. Creamy deep caramel and a hint of chocolate. Finishes fruity. Licorice and spices. Fusel alcohol and slightly bitter.

Mouthfeel - Creamy and highly carbonated. Boozy and a little abrasive in the finish.

Overall - Tastes pretty good up front, but gets a little rough in the back.

Had this at mcNellies in tulsa

Pours a semi-hazed amber with a finger of cream colored head. Some head retention & lacing, lacing held up pretty good

S: Apple peels, breadyness, & orchard fruit

T: Apple peels, breadyness & booze presence up front, plus a touch of lemon hops. Caramel, a touch of breadyness & then boozey warmth once this warms, along with some candi sugar dryness. Finishes dry & boozey with caramel & pralines, would've pulled a 4.5 but hotness dragged this down a bit

MF: Chewy, near zero carbonation, very warming

Drank easy for the ABV, need to try this again when the temp drops by say 50 degrees or more, I bet this smacks the chill outta winter...

Served in a chilled shaker pint at Upper Crust in Edmond. Pours to a creamy beige head that is thin (poured too carefully?) but laces and lasts. Color is red amber and hazy. Aroma is sugary malt, plums, yeast esters such as clove, bubblegum, and other spices, brown sugar and alcohol. Flavor is rich and complex with a strong sweet port/marsala taste up front, with spicy funky Belgian flavors in the middle and a rich, sweet rumlike finish. Mouthfeel is medium and sugary in a good way. Overall a delicious, satisfying high gravity ale with complexity and polish, approaching world class.
