Taking a step away from our namesake, once a year we craft a lager worthy of extra days in the cellar. The COOP Oktoberfest combines Munich malt, Bavarian hops and a traditional German yeast, and calls for the celebration of fall's arrival. It's time to find a tent, fill your stein, prost, yodel and polka!

Carmel undertones. Smooth finish. Very easy to drink. Rich body. Smooth feel. Tasted better than Sam Adam's Oktoberfest with a bolder taste. Color is amber and amazing

Poured from a can. Caramel in color with a tan head. Smells of bread and honey. Tastes of bread and caramel. Very smooth and totally enjoyable October fest.

Poured from a 12 oz can:

Pours a medium amber color with a slightly orange tint. Head is off white and disappears quickly without much lacing.

Aroma is a little faint for my taste but has some balance of malts with floral and grassy characteristics (barely though).

Taste is very malt driven. Very earthy and nutty with the malts up front. The hops aren’t much, but they come in the middle to give some balance and a bit of bite. Finish is mainly malty and earthy but the yeast does play a role at the end. At first sip it feels like it won’t be balanced but the “fall spices” and every other aspect really do balance well by the end.

Feel is medium carbonation with a light to medium body. Very drinkable.

Overall - a good showing for sure. I love Oktoberfest brews (especially the German imports of course), but this is one of my favorite US renditions. Drink it on tap if you can - it is much better.

Off white head fades quickly leaving minimal lacing. Color is a beautiful amber. The bubbles and foam portend a low to medium amount of carbonation.
Mouthfeel is top notch. This is a highly drinkable beer. Smooth.
True to style, this is very malt forward. What little hops that are noticeable provide a tobacco-like sting to somewhat counterbalance the malt sweetness but overall this beer's strength is it's drinkability.
There are hints of butterscotch and caramel in the finish.
I like this. I'll drink it again. It's not among Coop's best and it's not among the best Oktoberfest's I've had but it's worthy.

Poured from a can into a glass. I was impressed with this one, appropriately malty but also complex, it reminded me a bit of Paulaner Salvator. I wish I bought more than one.

Pours a clear, lightly-foggy copper-burgundy with a finger of khaki head. Aroma is nutty, bready, caramely, earthy malts. Really simple aroma, but clean. Flavor profile is bready, caramely, earthy, nutty malts with a little hint of toffee and caramel behind. Mouth feel is lightly soft, with a modest effervescent. It has a medium thickness. Overall, clean and simple with a nice, sweet finish.

Served in a 15.5oz Speigalau tulip from a 12oz can.
