Notes / Commercial Description:
A strong German malt background and a slight note of bittering hops from Central Bavaria give this easy drinking lager its signature character. Pours a clear darker golden color with off-white head. Malt, bread, hay, cereal, and some grass on the nose; follows onto the palate. Medium bodied. Finishes with more malty goodness.

First had this Oktoberfest poured from 12-oz. can, purchased in Norman, Okla., into faceted mug. Nice color, COOP's Oktoberfest lager is also fairly true to style.

Poured out a clear, amber color with some reddish highlights. It smelled floral and grassy. Lots of sweet malty notes, too. It was very spicy and had a nice sweet caramel malt flavor. It was soft and smooth with a dry finish.

This stuff is best within about 30 seconds of the pour. Very thin head which dissipates quickly to nothing. Almost no nose at all. Looks nice though - pretty copper color.
The real problem is simply the taste. To me its almost on the border of being rancid. I've purchased this two years going now, and both 6 packs were alike. Its just not a great beer, not a good example of an Martzen and not good with anything. Very flat feel. It is drinkable, but I don't think I will repeat.

Light on the spices, a bready, malty, thick, grainy mess

Taste Rating in Words: It's the crazy relative in the corner. Sure they are entertaining, if it comes to that, but you'd be more comfortable if they just didn't show up.

On tap. Pours a slightly hazy copper color with a one finger, moderately receding head that leaves two inches of lacing. Nose of roasted malt, caramel, and subtle herb-iness. Taste follows the nose with roasted malt, nuttiness, and a delicate note of spicy hops on the finish. Medium-low carbonation and medium body that is very smooth.
This is a nice Märzen. Nice roasty and toasty smooth body that doesn't neglect the traditional german hops. Much better on tap than canned. Another solid beer from COOP.

Poured can into snifter. Lively head that fades. Rich thick Märzen color.

Smells of malt and apricots or other such dried fruit. Faint spice.

Malty taste with spice balance. Very bready type of Märzen flavor. Bitter elements remind of some American brown ales.

Mouth is smooth and thick. Carbonation isn't too much.

Coop's seasonal exception to their ale-centric brewing is actually a very good Oktoberbest. Beautiful color too. Okies really got this one right.

Straight "4's" across the board. Sampled on 12/27/15. Comes in a 16-ounce can. Can chilled down to 36 degrees in my beer cooler and poured in to a 20-ounce 'Rock Bottom Mug Club-Omaha' handled-glass stein.

Brew pours a deep copper-amber in color with about a 2-finger creamy/foamy off-white head. A decent amount of lacing was seen with every sip. Aroma is of caramel malts with a hint of spice. Pretty much is said for the taste with lots of malty flavor that is pretty clean. Goes down easy with no bitterness to mention. Overall a decent brew of this style. Medium-bodied with lighter carbonation.

appearance- Copper in color and pours a tan one inch tall head.

aroma- Sweet nutty caramel malts and a hint of herbal/spiced hops.

Taste- Chewy caramel upfront transitioning to a nutty/toasted malt in the finish.

feel- A little under-carbonated, medium bodied, chewy malts, and pretty clean in the finish.

Overall- Solid Oktoberfest from Coop, but its just average for the style. A little under carbonated and the flavor doesn't quite pop as it should. There's almost a watery aspect to this beer that shows up at times that cuts the flavor short. Overall, it good, but not worth getting again.

Poured into a shaker pint glass.

Look: Hazy liquid carmel colored body. Cream colored head that recedes to a film. No lacing.

Aroma: Bready malts, sweet caramel, faint metallic notes.

Taste: Malt-forward with caramel sweetness and some breadiness, subtle spicy hops in the finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied.

Overall: Not bad at all, but probably not worth the nearly $12 price tag for a 4 pack. I bought a single can for nearly $5. Not worth it.

A clear amber, sweet and slightly nutty brew that flirts with cloying but never really goes there so all is good in Oktoberfest land!
