Initial impression from a can purchased as part of a sixer at a Whole Paycheck in Austin, TX:

Assertively hoppy, delivering ample hop pungency and flavour without shying away from bitterness yet still keeping it in balance with pale malt sweetness. Grapefruit, pith, floral hop flavours, sharp citrus.

Mouthfeel is a little overcarbonated but it's forgivable. Slightly coarse, wet, medium-bodied, refreshing. Not real oily. Not gushed, hot, boozy, astringent, harsh, rough, or scratchy.

Overall, it's a lovely IPA with a nice classic hop profile and aptly assertive concomitant bitterness. Could be more complex and could boast better depth of flavour, but it's well balanced and well built and I'll enjoy working my way through the sixer I got. I'll have to give COOP Ale Works more attention; this is solid.

High B- (3.50) / WORTHY

02/17/18 another can:

Not getting the pine, but there is a nice resinous flavour to it along with plenty of concomitant bitterness. Definitely a hoppy IPA in terms of bitterness, but more depth of flavour to go along with that bitterness would be nice.

From a can dated 11/27/17.

Pours a clear amber with a thick, white head that left sticky lacing.

The smell is grapefruit, orange, some pine and citrus, and malt.

The taste has bright pine notes, some citrus, and a strong malt backbone.

The mouthfeel is slightly thick and oily with a bitter finish.

Overall a really nice west coast IPA that doesn't overpower with the pine.

I just had this IPA from COOP Ale Works at a small brewpub in Oklahoma City, ABV 7.10%, IBU 85. I was impressed by the nice balance of fruitiness and bitterness of this to me unknown IPA.

Look: clear golden hue with a thin white head

Aroma: citrus, pine resin

Taste: The flavor is sweet malts and biscuits, it's fruity with pine resin, grapefruit, mango, orange, it's dank, and surprisingly good.

Feel: light to medium

Just a straightforward, easy drinking (especially for the 7.1abv) IPA. Uber smooth and refreshing. Good looking in my pint glace and leaving plenty of lace. Subtle citrus hops on the scent...a hint of pine. Taste does not blow me away, but I will tell you this...it goes down freaking easy! Unbelievably smooth! Wanted to give it higher marks on taste, but nothing out of the ordinary. I think this would be the perfect beer to introduce to a non IPA drinker to get his/her feet wet. Hops are there but won't kick your butt. Nice job COOP!

12oz canned on 9-28-17

Clear, clean, golden IPA with a 1" white head and good retention.
Sweet orange peel, lemon, sweet malt and a hint of pine. Smells great.
More orange and lightly sweet malt - hop bitterness hits midway - some pine into the finish.
Medium body, short lingering hop bitterness. All seems right....unique hop profile that I like.
Malt forward IPA (perceived by me anyway) even at 85 IBU, I would have missed that question. Very good, very enjoyable/flavorful IPA.

Thanks to RedhawkPoke for this one from NBS BIF #6. 12oz can poured into 12oz tulip. The beer was a hazy light orange color with about a half-inch of white head that had moderate retention and lacing.

There was a nice base malt scent underneath the bright hops. On the tongue, the hops were dominant, mildly sweet at the front, with a nice bite of bitterness at the back. The body was solidly medium, and had a dry finish. Drinkability was good, it would be in my rotation were it local to me. Overall, a solid, enjoyable brew, worth trying if you get the chance.

Got in a BIF from jdell15. 12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 7/27/2017. Pours slightly hazy golden/amber color with a 2 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearane. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, pine, light honey, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/pine hops and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of huge grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, pine, light honey, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus rind, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, pine, lightly toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/pine hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, sticky/resinous/rindy, and fairly crisp balanced mouthfeel that is awesome. Zero warming alcohol for 7.1%. Overall this is fantastic IPA! All around outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/pine hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink with the modestly bitter/drying finish. Very vibrant and dank hops; great bready malt backbone with no residual sweetness. Never overly aggressive. Perfectly balanced citrus/tropical Falconers Flight and dank/piney Columbus hop character. A highly enjoyable offering.
