Not bad but nowhere as good as the one in GreenTree South Hills. The environment here is far more "local bar hang-out." Darts, pool, yep but the very few people here were sitting in 2 pairs at the bar and doing nothing but talking and drinking.

The service is a bit sketchy, meaning you frequently have to track down the server if you want anything, including more beers. Servers seemed clueless regarding beer.

Beer selection is far more than most local places (you can find their current listings on their website) but we found that they were out of a number of the listed beers. The ambience is about the same as some local bar, as well. Not bad overall, just bland. Food was okay but nothing special. For us fans of the Southside Hop House this place near home was a great disappointment, unfortunately.

The atmosphere here is a cross between local watering hole and sports bar. Lots of flat screen TV's at the bar. There are darts, a pool table and trivia. Smoking is allowed here, so the place tends to get smokey during busy times.

The quality is pretty solid. All of the beers I have tried so far have been fresh and taste as if they are coming from clean tap lines.

I honestly have no idea if the servers know anything about beer or not, I would probably guess that they do not. However, they are friendly and prompt, which is really all I can ask for.

This is not the place you would come to find the latest limited beer that was realeased, but it is a good place to get really good beers. Including taps and bottles there are a good selection of micros and imports, with a pretty good spectrum of styles. East End Big Hop is always on, a great lakes beer is normally around, Green Flash Hop head red was there, some stuff from yards, Troegs, Franziskaner, Thirsty Dog, Brooklyn, Southampton. The menu also says that you can ask for a survey to request different beers.

I have only had bar-type food here, sandwiches and wings. They were good. I know there is a wood-fired oven here, so I would assume that the rest of the food is pretty good also.

Value is why I love coming to the Hop House. Regularly, most beers (bottles and tap) are 4.25 for a draft pint or 12oz bottle. On top of that, there are different specials every single day of the week. One day all drafts are $3.00, one day Bartenders choices are $2.50, another day there are $2.00 Yuengling products (Lager, Black and tan, Porter, lord chesterfield) and on Wednesday there are .15 cent wings.
