#1721 - Blind-tasted except for the beer's name and brewery/country, zero reviews below read (yet!)…
L- Mid-amber, pours slightly hazy with a 2Cm pillowy cream coloured head. ps 5-10mins later, the head is holding really well!
S- Just some fresh grain and light malts.
T- Quite dry on the front, and that hoppy note grows fast in a vibrantly hopped aspect. Some malt follows and brings some balance.
F- Certainly dry, is this a pale ale, it is easily that prominent?
O- A very hoppy-dry trad 'light' (of malts) ale. Better as a refresher than as a palate fulfiller. For me the hops over-dominate; they're loud enough I'm losing the ability to register much else. One for the serious/trad hop-heads.
Review/scoring all done, now the reveal, I get to read the bottle lables to see what I missed! ==> It's Bottle-Con, there is sediment left behind there. Also, it notes: 'Amber beer with bitter taste, refermented in bottle'.
330ml bottle £3.30 BB: 14/10/2023 Bought from BelgianBeerCompany, Stoke/UK as part of a large pick-your own consignment to London.

De Saveur Biere. En copa Grimbergen. Jugando a Avernum 6. Tipica rubia belga, algo azucarada y con una sensacion quizas algo mas carbonatada de lo deseable, pero correcta. Se disfruta sin mas

Decent white head on top of a decent amber colour. There is something weird with the smell and taste: at the first few sniffs and sips, this beer seems to be a perfect balance of caramel, malt, vanilla esters and pine hops. After that however, it tends to get pretty boring. Body and carbonation are medium. A decent beer, but this brewery has far better samples in store.

Bottle served into 20cl stemware in Antwerp, Belgium. Reviewed from notes taken in July 2010.
A: Pours a two finger head of no real cream, fair thickness, and decent retention. Body colour is a solid dark nontransparent copper.
Sm: Malt. Hops. In the most generic way possible.
T: A bit of cream, caramelized malt, and nice hops. Pretty simple. Balanced well, but poorly built for the style. Bland and boring.
Mf: Smooth and wet. Complements the flavours. Carbonation and thickness are not ideal.
Dr: Easy to drink but highly priced by local standards. Quality is decent, but this is largely a forgettable beer.
