Not going to hold back. This beer is very good. The taste right off the bat leaves me wanting more. If you favor dark beer give it a try next time you're out.

No bottling date that I could find.

A: Pours black with an enormously effervescent head. 80% head 20% beer in the glass. Head retention is top notch. Pretty expansive lacing to boot.

S: Big strong dark fruit aroma right off the bat. Dates, plums, figs, raisins. Light char and chocolate in the background, maybe even some anise.

T: Not as fruity as the nose, but still plenty of dark fruits up front. It's hard to distinguish, but fig and raisin for sure. Dark bready malt with a charry background. Lightly smoky. A touch earthy and leathery into the finish with more hints of those dark fruits. Finish just has a hint of bitterness into the aftertaste as well, maybe from the char or perhaps a hint of hops.

M: Fairly heavy, quite smooth.

O: Quite excellent RIS with a belgian flair. Definitely on the very fruity side of RISes without much roasted malt character. Kinda tastes like a quad and a RIS blend if I'm honest.

I can't call this beer an Imperial Stout. It's belgian strong dark ale.
Pours a dark brown colour (not black) with a huge head. The smell and taste are really estery even if you get some chocolate in the backend, I can't really notice any roasted notes. Spicy with peppercorn mostly. All right beer but don't trust the label this is no RIS

This beer producer makes beers correct but not extra-ordinary. They are beers that are left drinking, because they have a good drink but they leave you with little desire to repeat the beer. Imperial Stout is an example of this. Beer correct but improved.

It pours dark brown color with big tan head. Long lasting foam leaves lots of laces. Smell is overly estery for its style. It smells strongly of molasses, prune and brown sugar. Malts are in background. Taste is slightly sweet. Roasted malts, chocolate and molasses are well rounded. Semi-dry and softly warming finish. Thin body for its style. Moderately carbonated. Not an example of classic imperial stout, but it's easy to drink and delicious.

Dark brown color with ruby hues, brown head. Aroma is really estery and fruity. I get lots of dark cherries. Taste starts bittersweet, like a roasty quadrupel. Estery with dark cherry liquor notes. Heavy body with medium carbonation. Not bad but it's too Belgian for my taste.
