I can't call this beer an Imperial Stout. It's belgian strong dark ale.
Pours a dark brown colour (not black) with a huge head. The smell and taste are really estery even if you get some chocolate in the backend, I can't really notice any roasted notes. Spicy with peppercorn mostly. All right beer but don't trust the label this is no RIS

This beer producer makes beers correct but not extra-ordinary. They are beers that are left drinking, because they have a good drink but they leave you with little desire to repeat the beer. Imperial Stout is an example of this. Beer correct but improved.

Dark brown color with ruby hues, brown head. Aroma is really estery and fruity. I get lots of dark cherries. Taste starts bittersweet, like a roasty quadrupel. Estery with dark cherry liquor notes. Heavy body with medium carbonation. Not bad but it's too Belgian for my taste.

Poured into a stout glass. It is not nearly as dark in color as most Russian Imperial Stouts I've tried before. It's more of a dark cola. It poured an enormous, frothy, ecru-colored head and extensive lacing that persisted throughout the pour. It features a the usual RIS smells: chocolate, coffee, and roasted grain but it has a lot more smell of dark fruit than I anticipated. It's a very pleasing aroma. It also has a very different flavor - something between a RIS and a Belgian Quad. Its tastes include dark chocolate, burnt coffee, vanilla, tobacco, raisin, and dark cherry. It has both sweet and sour notes at the finish but very little hop presence. It's a medium-bodied stout, not as viscous as some of its popular American cousins, and it is highly carbonated. It really hides its 9% ABV. Overall, it is a very good stout, combining elements of two of my favorite styles. I like a dark fruit presence in an Imperial Stout and Troubadour has lots of it.

Very smooth and silky, nice lasting fluffy beige head. Dark brown cloudy body, light chocolaty aroma, taste brings in some roast grain, burnt toast smoky flavors. Some sweet molasses notes on the finish.
