Glassy orange with just a hint of amber. The head was small in size, beige in color and left very little lace other than a short, jagged collar. The nose was low on power, but I could pick out citrusy hops.

The beer tasted much better than the nose led me to believe. This was a pretty good APA all things considered, with bright, snappy citrus peel the most prominent member of the flavor profile (in essence, lemon peel with a handful of grapefruit zest shavings). The finish was softly bitter and fairly clean while the the body was a mite too thin and slightly too carbonated.

Topping Pale Ale was a good version and matched up well with my BBQ chicken pizza. The low ABV and relatively light body gave it a high degree of downability. Even though it has a few too many weak points to be considered very good, I'll be sure to order a pint or two on any future visits.

A disappointment, especially considering the hoppy awesomeness of their IPA. This beer is very malty and full, but lacks any hop complexity in the flavor. A fairly dark pale, honestly this beer reminds me more of an amber ale than a pale ale. It has mild hops and a malty flavor (which to me is more reminiscent of crystal malt and ambers than pales). It is quite drinkable though.

Orange color with darker highlights and some gold thrown in. Lightly tanned head is served about a half inch, but quickly receded. Lacing was pretty good; aromas of citrus with a hint of pine, although hint is an operative word.

The flavor doesn't exactly jump, but it's more assertive than the nose. The citric notes are prominent, although in the English vein it does even out the bitterness and finish very clean. Slightly watery, with a medium-thin body - sort of a mix between British muted flavors and American thin body.

Pretty drinkable, but not challenging enough to want more. Middle of the road.

First off, this is an English style Pale Ale, so I did not expect anything too hoppy. It was basically copper in color. There was some lace to the beer. I could detect some carmel aroma in it. It was not overly hoppy in aroma or bittering, although I could detect an almost peachy aroma when it was still cold. The body of this beer improved as it warmed up, and was not on cask, but would probably be really nice on cask. The body actually became creamy in texture and it almost seemed I could smell cream in the aroma at that point. This beer was NOT one to be consumed quickly if you want to taste and smell the different layers.

Brown hue, good depth, unfiltered haze with a fluffy off-white head, a ½ inch worth, great retention but no lacing. The nose is lightly hoppy, equally light hints of caramel. Pleasant. The palate is not very bitter, modest caramel, toasty, very distant smooches of butter. Slight fruitiness too. Obviously English in nature. Creamy, thin mouthfeel. Solidly constructed overall. It is hard to complain about a Pale Ale on Cask, so I won’t.
