12 oz bottle poured into a Sam Adams Perfect Pint glass.

Appearance
Deep red / mahogany with 1+ fingers of creamy off-white head. Excellent clarity with lively carbonation.

Nose
Grapefruit, orange citrus, pine, lemon, passion fruit, caramel, and candy sugar.

Taste
Pink grapefruit zest, tangerine, pine needle, and bright florals. Caramel maltiness with residual candy sugars. Finishes zesty and resiny with a lingering bitter bite.

Mouthfeel
Full bodied, crisp, silky, off-dry, and moderately bitter.

Overall
Nice classic west coast hop profile on top of a firm caramel base. Big flavors and a great Imperial Red IPA that drinks easy for the abv.

Enjoy this fantastic ale at Fats Heads on draft. Just great, great color, aroma taste and finish. it was easy to sip but strong on the alcohol. Nice citrus taste and hoppy, hoppy, hoppy. Cant wait to go back and have another.

12 oz bottle. Pours deep ruby amber, thin tan head, soapy lace. Big fruity aroma, was expecting resiny bready aroma but was surprised with the tropical nose. Taste follows with a balance of caramel malt sweetness, fruity and floral hops, piney bitterness in the very end. Finishes dry. Medium slippery mouth. Impressed again by Fat Heads.

Bottle: Poured a clear amber/copper color ale with a nice foamy head. Aroma of citrusy and piney hops with nice floral undertones. Taste is a nice mix of citrusy and piney hops notes with limited bitterness and some nice floral undertones with limited residual sugar notes. Body is full with good carbonation. Another super enjoyable hoppy ale from this brewer.

A - Wow is that a dark dank brew! Almost dark brown in color I don't think I ever seen such an opaque colored head in a red ale before which is a 1/2 inch that pulls back to great lacing.
S - Mostly sweet but it does have a distinct pine needles smell others described. Smell is excellent.
T - Bitter yet balanced with a touch of caramel sweetness the bitterness does linger a bit with every sip.
M - Does show its boozy side a bit but is easy to put away slick medium bodied brew.

Overall I am not sure why I don't buy more Fatheads brews this one was fantastic.

Received as an extra, poured into my Duvel tulip.

A - Poured a nice crystal clear reddish brown with a nice fat one finger off white head that fades slowly to leave sticky lacing and a nice thin creamy blanket.

S - Aromas of light caramels, lightly sweet malts, real faint pine needles, very light citrus, primarily oranges and zest. No alcohol, but, a bit sweet.

T - Taste is similar to the nose. Fair amount of malty caramel sweetness, booze/alcohol is fairly prominent here. Strong lingering bitterness on the finish. Fair amount of candied orange peel. Sticky, loads of earthy piney hops.

M - Mouthfeel is pleasantly bitter, still fairly boozy and a bit sticky though.

O - Overall this was a solid imperial red ale. Big, boozy, bitter.
