Double IPA celebrates everything brewers love about life. Big pine, mango, & pineapple aromas, followed by juicy tropical flavors.

12 FL. OZ. can
Served in an oversized, stemless, wine glass
This beer pours a brilliant amber hue and is topped with an inch of beige head that leaves spotty lacing.
Medicinal smell. Citrus and dank
Medicinal taste. Citrus. It tastes dank. Some resin.
Thin bodied with a watery mouthfeel
Not my favorite Fat Heads IPA

As Tony the Tiger used to say .... "GRRRRREATE!" The nose hits you right in the face when you pop this bad boy .... Flavor abounds and worthy of it's World Class reputation!

12oz canned 2/10/23 (27 days ago) poured into a Spiegelau IPA glass at fridge temp 8% ABV 90 IBU per can. The beer pours bright medium amber with light khaki colored head. The head recedes to a thin cap and leaves a web of lacing. The aroma is moderate in strength featuring big tropical fruit, pine and earthy notes. The taste is semisweet caramel malt with loads of pine, citrus, mango etc. Moderately strong bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Overall, very, very good. A little more earthy / dank than my ideal IIPA, but really good.

Pours a gorgeous burnt orange color that is nearly clear with a dense white head that provides ample lacing. Beautiful WCDIPA. The nose is filled with resiny pine, mango, and tangerine aromas. O. M. G.
The taste is led by that resiny pine flavor and is crushingly bitter, with the mango and tangerine flavors providing a juicy respite and flowing into a nice caramalt finish. Absolutely delicious.
The mouthfeel is full and drying, on point for the style. This is a WCDIPA I could drink until it came out my ears.

Had this on 2023-03-08 from a fresh 12oz can
A - Clear gold with a 1-finger white head and good lace
S - Moderately dank, melon, pineapple, light malt. Quite pleasant
T - Grape skin, melon, pine, white pepper, mango, biscuit, slightly woody, herbal, lime zest bitterness buffered with light grape jelly. Nowhere near as dank as I thought it would be from the smell.
M - Medium body and carbonation. Resinous and gooey but really dries nicely.
O - Quite layered and complex; delivering a unique set of flavors that certainly appeals to me as a West Coast IPA lover. Well done!

Shrinking heads all across the Midwest, Fat Head's Brewery is bringing a less big approach to what's basically an imperial West Coast-styled IPA with big-headed intentions. Heads are going to explode!
Deep golden and hazy chrome, Head Shrinker floats a creamy eggshell stained froth before hitting the nose with a pungent, peppery, fruity, herbal and grassy hop punch. Dipped in honey and caramel, the malt contribution soothes the hop scent while also offering a gently sweet upstart in taste.
As the beer splashes the middle palate a plump character of oranges, grapefruit, pineapple and mango in a juicy and radiant fruit display before trending swiftly drying with dehydrated fruits. All the while, the session trends botanical with peppery greens, pine resins, hemp and a spicy grassiness in old school bitter beer fashion.
Full bodied but dry enough for ease of drinkability and palatability, the beer finishes drying, bitter and with a long linger of spruce, hemp, herb and hay with an extended spicy gin-like edge. And yes, after a session like this, the heads are going to feel a little smaller.

As one of the larger local brewers, we get lots of nice, fresh Fat Head's products. We are very fortunate.
This one pours a lovely brassy golden color, nearly (but not completely) transculent, with very fine head. The aroma is clean and just a bit hoppy and stanky - just a tad. The taste is strong ale malty, boozy, with nice bittering and a great burp.
Highly recommended. A great imperial north coast style, fresh, and reasonably priced.
