Dank, resinous, & citrusy hops complemented with toasty caramel malt flavor & dash of chocolate to finish.

Just a tad less than two fingers worth of lush light khaki colored froth... Color is a flat black color that allows a good bit of light to leak in around the edges... A good bit of lacing clings to the sides of the glass... The most subtle of noses, perhaps just a hint of roasted malts... Flavor profile is more pronounced with a good hop bite and more intense roasted malt character... Feel is a medium and it goes down smoothly with just a touch of brisk carbonation... Excellent brew...

11/18/22 On tap at Fat Head's Saloon, Pittsburgh, PA. 12 oz.
Deep brown with very light lacing.
Metallic, roast smell.
Nice hoppy bitter. Roasty comes in at the end. I prefer a more toasty black IPA, but as rare as these are now, I am very happy to have tried it!

Having this beer on-tap at the Middleburg HTS. location. Served in a pint glass, this beer draws a very dark brown, almost black color with a nice tan head that's about hang an inch thick when first drawn and served. Head eventually settles to a thick ring surrounding the inside of the glass at the beer's surface along with some small spot clusters of film layer surface foam and good lacing. Aromas of roasted malts with just a hint of caramel sweetness that gives way to black coffee bitterness and a hint of chocolate and some earthy, floral hops. A very similar flavor profile, with some roasted malts that have a slight hint of caramel sweetness that is followed black coffee bitterness and a hint of chocolate that's all rounded out with a dank, resinous, earthy, floral, somewhat piney hop bitterness. Very good and well rounded flavor profile overall. Has a fairly crisp, also smooth, slightly dry, medium to full bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Has a clean, somewhat dry finish and aftertaste.
