Notes: Firm bitterness and just the right amount of malty body are married with tantalizing layers of pine, papaya, earth and tropical fruits.

Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass.

Deep bronze orange, with gleaming crystal clarity and fine rising carbonation. Fluffed up billowing off white rich head. Tall but not over reaching with a good three plus height, and pill like lacing. Great looking brew.

Dank and a rich spicy hop note. Bit of large caramel but balances nicely, with though a bit of noticeable fussel alcohol.

Palate is rich, but hits hard. Earth and pungent herbs smack with a big pine blast which is highlighted with some boozy heat. Finishes big and menthol, with a simple backbone of malt but lacks some of the rich feel expected in a dipa.

Solid double, but just runs a bit hot and heat rich.

This is still really good but falling more on the end of "this just tastes likes ones I've had before but kinda...not as good. It definitely tastes like a Fatheads IPA. Idk not as thrilled with this one but definitely would buy and drink again. The worst Fat Heads ipa is still way fricking better than most and this isn't the worst.

I’m not that good at describing color but I would say this is fairly clear closer to brown than gold. The hop hits you right up front and is wonderful. Very clean taste as it goes to the back end. A series beer and a delight to behold. Very tasty. I have gotten in to the habit of picking up anything that Fathead’s makes that has Hop in the name and I am never disappointed.

One if the best IPAs I have had in quite some time. Piney and citrusy with a back bite that flies across the palate. Superb offering by Fat Head that will gain interest by hopheads like me.

Poured into a tall pint glass: color is gold, head is off white with fine bubbles, presents 2 fingers thick, head dissipates to solid top with lacing on the glass sides.

Smell is pine, light tropical fruit, dank, light honey malt.

Taste is big hop forward punch of pine, papaya, and spicy, earthy hops, dank finish; malt is notable and backing the hops with a light sweetness, seems to have a honey like sweetness.

Mouthfeel is moderate carbonation, moderate sweetness, moderate/strong hop bitterness - big hoppy bite with lingering drying presence.

Overall a big, punchy hop forward brew with moderate maltiness.

On draft at Paducah Beer Works. Killed the keg. Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a large, khaki-colored head of foam. It left sudsy sheets of lace on the glass. It smelled of pine, toasted caramel and sweet citrus. Tasted of toasted caramel, toffee, citrus and sharp piney bitterness.

I am trying this beer off the tapper as part of a six sample flight at The Daily Growler in Powell, Ohio. It poured a clear golden with thin white ring head that is leaving some lace. The scent had pine and malt notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bitter hop mixed with pine resin. The mouthfeel was fuller in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.

Pours a golden orange-brown color with ample white head that lasts.
Aroma is a piney citrus hops.
Taste is resinous pine and citrus. Bitter, but not overwhelmingly so. The sweet ethanol flavor characteristic of DIPAs is present on the finish, but it is muted. Dank hemp and earthy. Hint of malt takes the back stage.
Feel is thick-medium bodied. Well carbonated.
Overall a good example of a dank and resinous, piney west coast DIPA.

From a 12oz can dated 9/20/21 into a pint glass.

Pours an ever so slightly hazy brownish orange with about one and a half fingers of white head. Decent retention, great lacing.

Smells of light citrus but pine and resin dominate.

Taste is pretty much all pine and resin bitterness. Maybe just a touch of bready malt.

Sticky mouthfeel-this is a sipper. Strong bitter aftertaste. Low carbonation.

Overall, this is on-point. A classic big bitter IIPA.

this is a very nice, serious offering from a top brewery. Well done Fat Head! canned 9/20/21, consumed 10/29/21 so thank you local beer monger for getting it to me fresh!
L: Drinking from the can, and it is truly stylish.
S: combo of bitter and sweet citrus, with pine. Very inviting.
T: Delivers on the nose. Final bitter note lingers. Very tasty.
F: Medium body and carbonation. Very pleasant.
O: Man, it works for me. Go get some!

12oz CANNED ON 09/16/21 (about a month ago) poured into a Spiegelau IPA glass at fridge temp 8% ABV 80 IBU. The beer pours mostly bright light honey amber in color with very light khaki head. The head recedes to a thin ring and island leaving behind some lacing. The aroma is moderate in strength featuring sweet citrus, pine and caramel. The taste is semisweet caramel with with big bitterness up front and notes of pine and earth. Lingering bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Overall, good. Not my favorite from Fat Head's, but worth the purchase.

While raiding the pantry of hops, Fat Heads stumble upon a copious blend of Chinook and Citra to fuel an imperial IPA with a deep, spicy and dank bitterness to recruit the staunchest of hop heads.

Nearly bright in copper and gold, the strikingly clear Hop Marauder caps off with a bright white foam stance. As its devious and dank fruitiness rolls off of the nose, so does a rife perfume of dirty greens, earthy legumes and a peppery pine character. As its citronella scent soon gives way to a first palate impression of caramel, crust and honey, notions of granola come to mind.

As the hops blossom on the middle palate, the full and fruity spectrum highlights aspects of bruised orange, bruised pineapple and bruised grapefruit. Over-ripe in their character hint of mango and papaya lead into a accute bitterness of peppery arugula, onion, garlic, hemp and pine tar as the taste comes to a close.

Medium bodied and noticeably fuller than usual, the bold IPA finishes decidedly on the dank and earthen side of sweet with an extended bitterness that resonates like dirty weed on the aftertaste. Save this beer for those who still wear Nirvana shirts, carry the aura of both pachouli and cabbage, and drive primer-only '70's full size conversion vans.

It's really nice to get fresh brews in styles like this that benefit from it so much. This sample is about two weeks old. It is a treat!

It pours not at all cloudy but a rusty gold with nice lacing. The aroma is stanky hops and malts - very stanky. The taste is a bitter hop bomb. The piles of malts over overshadowed by bigger piles of hops. It's big and bitter and thick, but not a hazy, for a change.

Highly recommended. Get them now, while they are crazy fresh.

These are two weeks old and awesome. It's over the top piles of bittering leave your mouth thoroughly trashed! What an amazing value too at $2.22/can.

Had this on 2021-09-30 near Pittsburgh, PA from a 12oz canned on 2021-09-26

A - Clear gold with a 2-finger white head and great lace

S - Heartily dank, light pineapple and pine. Mild malt. Aromatic for sure

T - Orange candy, pine, fresh hop bud with less dankness than I expected from the smell, light pepper and a bit of malt/caramel sweetness. Not overly bitter. Delicious West Coast DIPA that is right up my alley.

M - Medium-high body and light-medium carbonation. Smooth and substantial. Nice.

O - Delicious West Coast DIPA that is right up my alley. Recommended.

Canned on 9/16/21. 12oz can poured into a tulip.

Pours golden with nice clarity and transparency; white head fades leaving solid retention and sticky lacing. Nice color.

The aromas have citrus along with some hints of caramel. Some floral notes. Some breads. Malts are there.

The flavors have a nice burst of grapefruit leading the way. Some pine. More caramel in the mix. Subtle sweetness. Solid bitterness. Malts do their thing. Finishes on the drier side. Alcohol basically goes unnoticed.

Mouthfeel is nice. It's full-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's fluffy, slick, smooth and slightly sharp.

This is a pretty solid DIPA. It has just about everything that you'd expect from a Fat Head's IPA, more or less. It drinks a little bit bigger than it is, but I don't consider that a bad thing at all. It's simply a well crafted classic and traditional example of the style. It's enjoyable and fun to drink. I like it.

Appearance: Pours a clear burnt orange with a frothy white head that leaves some streaks

Smell: Very piney, with some honey, mango and grapefruit

Taste: A little tropical, up front, with the honey and mango tones but the pine and pith wallop the palate through the middle; fairly bitter finish

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: A bit too much on the piney side when the world has moved in a tropical direction
