Pretty deep orange filtered color. Nice abundant lacing. Smells dank. Noticeable hop presence. Taste is malt and grapefruit with some pine present. Decent on the palate. Refreshing and well above average.

L: A beautiful golden orange, like the color of Commodore Perry. Unlike Commodore Perry, it has a creamy, long-lasting head.
S: Lovely aroma of grapefruit and pine.
T: An EXPLOSION of grapefruit and pine! (Tastes very similar to Grapefruit Sculpin.) At once strongly bitter and incredibly smooth---the juxtaposition here is the lifeblood of this beer! It is very close to miraculous.
F: A delight to drink. My only complaint is that it left me rather gassy (I was letting off grapefruit belches!).
O: A world-class IPA.

L- The beer pours clear and golden in the light. The head is a solid 2 fingers of frothy white bubbles. Lacing is patchy but lasting.
S- The nose is strong upfront with grapefruit and hints of pine underlying. Pretty much what you would expect from a west coast style IPA.
T- Much the same as the nose. Lots of grapefruit pith right up front transitioning to light pine in the mid to late palate. Grapefruit overwhelms the pine pretty quickly for me ending in a solid pithy bitter finish. Alchohol is very well hidden for a single IPA of this abv.
F- The mouthfeel is medium overall with a slick oily texture. Even so the beer is light enough to drink in multiples. Top notch in this respect.
O- It's easy to see why this has won multiple awards. I tend to find many grapefruit dominant IPA's too blandly bitter. This one however has me grapefruit flavor that hasn't dulled my palate and finishes cleanly and enjoyable. The fact that the beer is able to completely hide the 7.5% abv so well only adds to the overall enjoyment. It's deceptively drinkable.

Poured into a 13 oz Weyerbacher tulip glass bottled on 7/19/16. Pours a beautiful slightly hazy orange with a 2 finger sticky white head that clings to the glass.

Smell is passion fruit, guava, tangerine, pine, and grapefruit very nice.

Taste follows very tropical upfront and finishes agressive with piny and fairly bitter grapefruit.

Mouthfeel is large for its style, sticky almost leaves a layer hop scum on the palate, lively carbonation, maybe a little dry, and incredible drinkability.

Overall this is world class!!!..... If you like fairly aggressive IPA'S this is your bag. Thanks @jzeilinger for this surprise package.

"Uncivilized and aggressive" - Love it...

L - Slightly less than two fingers worth of slightly late to develop uniform crisp light khaki colored froth displaying a bit of a rocky top as it settles... Solid retention, turning a bit richer and creamier as it begins to settle... The color is a deep rich amber... A moderate bit of small bubbled rapid carbonation which rises randomly throughout... A slight bit of lacing clings to the sides of the glass...

S - Bursting at the seems with tropical fruits... Pineapple... Mango... Tangerine... Oranges... A subtle malt base lingers beneath the surface that takes on biscuit and caramel notes... Simple, straight forward and quite effective...

T - Additional depth and complexity emerges on the palate... The tropical fruit notes are dialed down several notches and an enjoyable and assertive piney character takes center stage... The two hop profiles ebb and flow added layers of flavor... There is also a slightly spicy character... The malt base is solid certainly in the background... It takes on notes of bread crust and graham crackers...

F - Medium bodied... Starts lush... Finishes with a touch of dryness... Even and consistent throughout... Light to moderate carbonation... A bit dense...

O - Quite simply put, this is an awesome American IPA... Look, smell and mouthfeel are all very good or better, but this one really shines in terms of taste where it is world class... I was sad when I got to the end of the glass... Hides its 7.5% ABV rather well...

Bottled 6/27/16

Pours deep gold color with off white head. Filtered clarity with lively carbonation bubbles

Smell is biscuity malt with laid back citrus of orange, lemon, and some peach.

Taste up front is pretty balanced, although this has over 6 weeks on it. I did have this fresher about a month ago ( same bottle date) and I remember the hops being more prominent and tangy. Further into the glass, it does carry more apricot and peach flavors but the biscuit malt flavor remains solid. it also brings on some sugary cereal flavor as well.

Body is lighter side of medium and carbonation is on the higher side of medium which is a very good combo for a 7.5% IPA. Finish is pretty clean but oddly not "dry". The feel is the best aspect of this beer.

Certainly a very good IPA especially for someone looking for a seemless balance rather than a citrusy palate slapper. The 4.33 score here is about right but It's borderline "world class" classification.

A - pours a clear golden brown with a ruby tint. Fine spotty lace appear and disappear quickly after each sip.

S - Citrus dominates the nose - grapefruit, orange zest, some hop resin.

T - Hop forward - grapefruit, tropical fruit, some malts present, piney notes. Medium mouth feel, but easy to drink.

O - Very impressed by this IPA - robust and big flavors, but easy drinking. This would definitely be in my go to list of brews if I could get it in Michigan. Once again, one of the few good things to ever come from the state of Ohio.

Dark gold to copper in color with a quarter inch of off white in top. Moderate lacing. The aroma is pure orange juice and light malt. I taste a wallop of citrus hops and light malt. The mouth is light in nature and lightly chalky and dry.

Insanely good. Great look, aroma but the taste is so smooth for such an assertively bitter beer. When fresh it is hard to bear. One of the best out there.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 6/7/2016. Pours slightly hazy golden yellow color with a nice 2 finger dense off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of huge grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pine, light caramel, bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Fantastic aromas with great balance and complexity of dank citrus/tropical/pine hops and light-moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of huge grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pine, light caramel, bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Large amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon/orange rind, pine, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish with a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dank citrus/tropical/pine hops and light-moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and minimal astringent hop flavors lingering after the finish. Moderate dryness from bitterness, that increases through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, sticky/resinous, and lightly creamy/grainy mouthfeel that is awesome. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is an insane IPA as expected. All around incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dank citrus/tropical/pine hops and light-moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV. An insanely amazing offering all around.

Wow this is a massive tropical IPA! So much of the aroma is dominated by pineapple, grapefruit juice, lots of resiny hops and grassy notes. Very hard to detect is a fresh bready malt base. Taste is tropical hoppy goodness with enough malt to give balance and body. Not many beers have this much of a layering of hops showcased. Hop lovers must try this! I would get it again for sure.

Smell: mandarin oranges tangerine candy fruit peach pineapple grapefruit.
Taste: orange peel tangerine upfront middle of the mouth mellow tropical notes crackery malt some hop dankness finishes with a nice hit of grapefruit biterness. The taste isn't as sweet as the smell.
Feel: medium body super dry in the finish oily slick mouthfeel. The hop biterness lingers in the aftertaste.
Overall: a very solid IPA.

Tasted this one at PDX Craft Beer Festival.

Can't really comment on the appearance, as it was served draft in a plastic tumbler.

Taste was exactly what I look for in an IPA...beaucoup hops aroma, taste, and piney resin.
Excellent brew, I voted it top place at the show.
Had a couple more samplers, and will be taking a little trip to the taproom.

Pours a clear copper color. 1/4 inch head of an off-white color. Decent retention and good lacing. Smells of citrus hops, caramel malt, slight pale malt, piney hops, and slight alcohol. Fits the style of an American IPA. Mouth feel is sharp and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of citrus hops, slight floral hops, caramel malt, slight sweet malt, slight alcohol, and a hint of yeast. Overall, good complexity, but otherwise a standard AIPA.

Light yellow-orange-amber color with a thick and lasting white head that eventually leaves heavy lacing. Sweet malt and pine on the nose. Nice piney flavor that seems light and refined, with a good malt backbone balancing it out. Bitter aftertaste with a slight alcohol kick. Medium bodied with "scraping bubbles" carbonation. Excellent beer.

Probably an older bottle. Very standard west coast IPA but has a bit of extra malt and older hop notes. Not exactly my favorite thing. It looks and smells fine but just not there for me on the flavor side this go.

Pours a clear amber color with a good foamy head. Retention is mild. Lacing is good. Has a big piney aroma with some citrus. This has a big piney hop at the end. Very aggressive. Assume it is dry hopped. Don't really get it from the aroma. It really overwhelms the citrus taste. Very astringent at the end.

Poured into shaker from bottle, nice 1 finger cream colored head. Nice retention and lacing. Light amber in the glass, not quite clear and some floaties. Smells of caramel, mango and pineapple. Taste a little sweet on the front followed by mango, pineapple and a little citrus bitterness. Great mouthfeel.

4 pack purchased at Kroger supermarket in North Dayton, OH (Tripp city to be exact) during my cross country road trip from Tucson AZ to NJ. Poured from 12oz bottle into tulip glass. Bottled 4/18/16 (originally consumed on 5/12/16)

A- amber in color, crystal clear with a fluffy white head that never seems to go away. amazing looking beer.

S- lots of citrus hops in the nose. stone fruit (peaches, mangos). a bit of pine as well. Excellent

T- bright citrus hop flavor again. orange peel, lemon. more stone fruit (peach). light pine bitterness near the end. malts compliment hop profile nicely. an excellent IPA. About as good as any I've had in California

M- slightly dry mouthfeel. quite nice and refreshing for an IPA

O- easily the best Ohio brewed beer I've ever had. Went down nicely after a 450 mile rainy drive. Highly recommended.

Pours a clear golden amber with a decent head.
Smell is very floral, it's essentially just hops but its nice.
Taste is lots of floral hop with a decent citrus like malt and burn taste. It's very pleasant actually
Mouthfeel is a bit carbonated, medium bodied.
Overall, really nice IPA. Both beers I've had today are from my home state, and it pleases me greatly.

Pours a nice light amber color, aroma of grapefruit, pineapple, slight pine, and malt. Taste is very hop forward like I prefer, citrusy, slightly malty, and a resin aftertaste which is fabulous. I like It. Keep up the good work, this beer is in my top 5, Thanks. After tating this beer for a few more months,... I have put it at the top of my list,... I have rated it higher than any other beer, the aroma, taste, it always is fresh. Thanks.

2 weeks old in the bottle.

It took me a 2 of these before I could place the aroma and flavor. This beer reminds me so much of Port Wipeout that it isn't even funny. Light, smooth, and ultra aromatic. That said, its delicious if you can get it fresh (if you can't, pass and get something else). If you can get it fresh, try it closer to room temp. I tried one ice cold and wasn't impressed. One that had been out of the fridge for a bit was so much more expressive. Glad I picked up some extras to share with friends.
