This is an excellent beer I had on draft. Very nice complex flavor with strong fruity undertones. Not too bitter and yet hops right up.

13oz bottle received through the lunatic generosity of WesMantooth, whose name must be spoken in hushed tones and with downcast eyes by UPS workers the world over. According to the stamp on the bottle, this was bottled on September 8, 2017. My 1st from Fat Head's.

Poured into a Fat Head's nonic pint glass (again, thanks, Corey), this was a very slightly chill-hazed, coppery amber. Big, creamy off-white head with impressive staying power that left lots of lace. A really good looking beer!

Hop aroma exited with gusto the moment the cap was popped. Big, grapefruity hoppy nose and pine sap notes. I can pick up some melon-y notes as well.

This drinks an awful lot like an old school IPA from this part of the country! Big, thick grapefruit-and-pine hop flavor that gives the tastebuds a big 'ol thwack. Fairly minor, bready input from the malts, with the finish a dry, bitter herbal hop note that surprised me given the big, thick citrusiness of the opening taste. I could drink the bejesus out of this!

Medium bodied, with a big, oily, resiny mouthfeel.

What a beer! I get the hype. This is some seriously delicious shit. It's actually been a little while since I've had such an IPA, what with everybody making tropical fruity, New England-influenced IPAs. I don't hate on those, or at least some of them, but this hits all the right notes for an IPA not trying to be one of those. I'd be hitting this on a near constant basis if I could. Thanks, Corey!

Poured out a clear, golden amber color with a bubbly, off-white head of foam. It smelled of pine, grapefruit, orange and toasted caramel. Big bold, hoppy bite of pine and citrus. Nice roasty malt, caramel and toffee, too.

L: clear golden with a small white head
S: mild hoppy aroma
T: starts with clean piney and citrus hops, then a touch of sweetness and a slightly bitter finish.
F: light and drinkable but with a bitter finish.

Poured from a 12oz bottle.
West Coast IPA profile all the way. Clear golden body, with white, long lasting head and moderate lacing. Balance of moderately bitter hops and malt in both the smell and taste. A standard for the style, recommended.

12 oz. bottle dateed 7/28/17. Poured into Teku glass.

L: 2F+ head with good retention, leaves lots of lacing and a cap and ring. Beer is a clear amber.

S: Orange and grapefruit with light biscuit or cracker malt notes. Quite good.

T: Pretty much as indicated by the nose. Holds up well for 6 weeks in the bottle. Like most midwestern IPAs I have tried, malt is more assertive, and there is a bit of a caramel character to it. Finish pretty neutral, barely earthy.

F: Mediumish body, light to medium carbonation. Pretty good construction and balance.

O: A very solid IPA.

12oz bottle marked bottled on 06/22/17 12:11. poured heavily into a pint glass.

Appearance- transparent copper color with a frothy head that's the slightest bit off white. leaves some thick lacing.

Aroma- orange citrus with a slight biscuit scent.

Flavor- just like the smell but with some floral hop notes. the malt also kicks out some slight caramel notes. abv is well hidden. bitterness is there but plays with the malt and lets the hops run free. I wish there was pine notes in this :(

Mouthfeel- solid medium bodied. good carbonation.

Drinkability- COME TO MICHIGAN AND PUT THIS IN SIX PACKS!!

Overall- this should be on every hophead's must try list. even tho I had a single slurm lord by short's before this (i'm rating this on the start of beer #4 from the four pack I purchased at the taphouse) I miss the slurm lord! both brews are great don't get me wrong just the slurm lord was almost all hop. this brew has both nice hop action and some easily detectable malt. beer snobs who complain about some ipa's being complete hop bombs and not balanced should really appreciate this brew.
