L: Classic bronze. Extremely clear. Negligible head poured from a bottle dated 12/29/15 into a wine glass.

S: nice tropical fruits and some malt.

T: beautiful! Grapefruit abounds, but also juicy Pineapple and mango, rounded out by a clean malt finish.

F: nice amount of carbonation jazzes it up, and has a creamy mouthfeel.

O: an extremely refreshing IPA. Alcohol presence is basically nil. Had to stop myself from quaffing this one.

Look: Medium orange-amber hue with a light, white foam head. Dissipates relatively quick but leaves a web of lacing.

Aroma: Big, clean tropical hops. Dank piney hops with light grapefruit citrus notes too.

Taste: Dank, earthy, piney hops and a somewhat sweet citrus bitterness.

Feel: Sticky, juicy, and refreshing. This is a very crisp, light IPA. Great balance between the sweet malt and bitter hops.

I really enjoyed this one, but was not blown away after some of the TH stuff I drank before it. This one is your prototypical IPA. Lots of hoppiness on the nose and good balance, but bot as juicy and dank as I prefer.

Very nice mix of pine and citrus going on. Grapefruit and orange both present. Fairly bitter, but offset a bit by a nice caramel malt base. The nose gives off pine resin and citrus. Tasty.

How I love IPA's...

Nice floral-pine flavor going on throughout the smell/taste/after-tasting. Personally this is the taste I go for with my IPA's (rather then being too bitter or more of a fruit taste); the Head Hunter does a real nice job, finding a balance and not hopping the hell out of the beer and destroying every other flavor profile. Good Stuff!!

This beer pours a slightly hazy golden orange color with a one finger soapy white head. Not much retention, but excellent sheets of lacing. Smell is pine, citrus and grapefruit. Taste is similar with a huge resiny dankness and a good deal of bitterness on the back end. Feel is light and almost sticky from the dankness. Overall this beer is amazing. Blows a lot of west coast IPAs that are actually from the west coast out of the water. Will need to trade for some more Fat Heads beers soon.

Good white head and a very apparent floral perfume hop smell. Very full mouth feel due to the carbonation. Bittef back end that hides the malt completely. Solid beer!

Poured from 12oz bottle dated 12/11/2015 into a pint glass. Clear golden copper color with good residual head. Bright citrus aroma and taste with excellent hop bite. A stellar IPA which I continually revisit.

Look - A clear golden color, good amount of carbonation
Smell - Grapefruit, citrus, resinous, pine, some pineapple....smells awesome
Taste - Grapefruit, pithy, citrus peel, dank/resinous, green, fresh hops
Feel - Sticky, dry finish, bold and in your face

Overall - I can see why this is an award winning IPA.

Opaque gold pour verging on lite copper (9); loose white head following draft pour. Aromas of grapefruit and lemon grass hops. Strong bitter grapefruit with caramel malt supporting the bitter hop flavors. Moderate carbonation and medium lite mouthfeel. Overall excellent balance of malt and hops, leaving a pleasing zesty lemon rind/bitter linger.

This is what I'm looking for in a respectable IPA. Just enough sweetness to balance it out, but hoppy enough to feel like chewing on a pine cone. Very little bitterness in this one, as it fades to light tropical and floral flavors like pineapple and guava. Gimme more of that citrusy resinous goodness!

Fresh bottles, poured into snifter.

A= Quite clear, golden with slight amber tint. Lots of rising bubbles creating a thick frothy white head.

S= Lots of piney hops with some bitter grapefruit peal.

T= Old school IPA flavors with a bit more citrus especially grapefruit. Get a decent amount of sweet caramel malt and toasty flavors in the finish. Bold but not overpowering bitterness.

M= Medium body with moderate carbonation, a bit syrupy.

O= Good, refined, balanced, old school IPA flavors with big bitter finish.

32 oz Crowler purchased at the Hulmeville Inn in Langhorne, PA.
Poured into a standard drinking glass.

Gold with 2+ fingers of creamy white head. Excellent clarity with lively carbonation.

Pine sap, grapefruit, bright florals, honey, and biscuit.

Grapefruit pith and pine needles. Honey malts with touches of toasted biscuit. Finishes with grapefruit zest, pine resin, dried florals, and onion.

Medium bodied, oily, semi-juicy, bitter, and dry.

Classic West Coast IPA flavor. An excellent representation of the style.

Decent looking brew. Smell is a 100% pine bomb. Rarely get that smell in IPAs these days. Taste follows the nose with strong pine hops, a touch of floral and plenty of resin. Also a nice malt balance. Moderate bitterness. A very solid IPA. Not exactly my usual wheel house for IPAs but its a very good beer. Enjoy.

Head Hunter pours a slight dark golden color. The nose has a fruity malty sweetness to it. The body has a bready sweetness, medium bitterness with a dry finish.

Head Hunter is always running through my veins… Living <15mins from the production brewery MIGHT be a reason why, but it really is because the beer is just so damn good. I actually only drink this fresh on tap, never from the bottle.

Aroma is piney/resinous with notes of citrus. Flavor is intensely bitter, a little sweetness in there but a dry finish overall. Carbonation is lively, mouthfeel is typical for an IPA. Color is a nice clear, golden hue… At least a finger of head typical.

I suppose you can say this beer is not all that balanced in the finish, but in a good way. The hop bitterness is so intense, sometimes that can linger on the palette for a while. Fat Head’s describes Head Hunter as being “aggressive” and that is a perfect way to describe it. It really is an intense IPA with delicious, complex flavors.

One of my favorite IPA’s, for sure

T: tropical fruit. Pineapple. Mango peel. Papaya. Citrus. Orange peel. Juicy fruit gum. Piney resin on the finish

F: clean but chewy. Fruity flavor coating the palate

O: 2 month old from bottling date. Really great. Awesome tropical notes with some bitter bite

L: A dull Golden amber appearance (yellowish/orange)
S: Smells of grapefruit, pretty light though
T: Tastes like a normal IPA, bitter, with a nice jolt of grapefruit/citrus
F: This beer is extremely light while drinking it, but leaves you with the dry-ish feeling IPAs generally give you.
Overall: A good IPA in my book, I can check this off my bucket list for it being one of Ohio's top 10, but not my favorite IPA so far.

L: Translucent yellow-orange.

S: Big fruit profile. Smells of zesty oranges, kumquat, and pineapple.

T: Hop forward, citrus continues, but there's a noticeablly piney hop feel. Definitely hopped to death, you either love it or hate it. Carmel malt makes a slight peek out from behind the hops. Alcohol present in the finish, but just barely. Finish is semi-dry with that resiny hoppy aftertaste lasting long after your swallow.

F: Carbonation is moderate. Mouthfeel is a little lighter than the aroma leads you to believe it is, but it fits the style.

O: A delightful and somewhat memorable IPA. Reminds me of a less balanced Big Nose, or maybe 90-minute? I'd seek something with a bigger malt backbone in my everyday IPA. But I would gladly drink this over the majority of the swill out there. Very good, aroma is there and the West Coast pine is killing it.

Had this on tap at the pint room. Color was an almost transparent golden yellow, very light for an ipa. Some good lacing, white head. Aroma and flavor were all citrus, aroma was a little light considering the flavor. Solid taste. Mouthfeel is a bit harsh, even for an IPA with this much booze. Good, maybe a touch overrated.

Drank in my damn house! 12 oz bottle in my HF chalice. Date tough to read, but just received in a trade, and dude shipped fresh, so I'm guessing no older than a month.

L- Amber pour, semi transparent and pretty, small 1/2 cm head, lacing along the glass.
S- Dankness, grapefruit and other citrusy, hoppy and punchy (hopefully soon I'll be better to identify the types), but just fresh and good.
T- Citrus punch! Grapefruit and orange, but touch of sweetness. Really nice.
F- Great mouthfeel, bit sticky on the swirl. Nice carb but thick enough to linger.
O- Overall a fantastic beer. Can't imagine what it's like a few weeks ago, or on tap. Really really nice, and will seek out again.

This is a high quality workhorse IPA. Smells great when fresh, and even when it's not super fresh, has a very pleasant resiny, grapefruit taste. Dry finish with some spicy carbonation.

Bottle poured into a BarrelHouse Brewing Co pint glass

A: Pours slightly hazy golden orange amber with a frothy off white head that settles to a nice layer and laces beautifully.

S: Citrus, grapefruit, lemon, tropical fruit, mango, pine, faint dank notes, and light caramel malt.

T: Big citrus, lemon and grapefruit, resinous pine, light tropical fruit, mango and maybe passion fruit, a little herbal dankness but just enough to give another layer, with some bready malt and just enough light caramel sweetness.

M: Medium body, moderate carbonation. Very drinkable.

O: My bottle wasn't super fresh, but there was still a ton of hoppy goodness remaining. I can only imagine what this is like fresh. Damn good IPA. Really happy my friend was able to sneak one out to me.

Oh yeah, that's a fruity IPA. Not a fan of $12 for a four pack, but this one is worth it. Not often that I find a memorable IPA these days, but this was one. Highly recommended
