On tap at Quaker Steak and Lube Sandusky, I didn't mean to order this, but they sent it by mistake. Slightly hazy deep golden color white head. Faint berry aroma and flavor sweet bready honey maltiness. Not horrible for a fruit beer.

Overall not bad, I don't really care for the fruity beer, especially the after taste but I thought I would give this one a try as many have recommended it. Unfortunately it had the same fruity beer aftertaste that I don't care for.

Pours a clear, maize color. 5/4 inch head of a white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of blueberry, pale malt, slight sweet malt, and a hint of hop. Fits the style of a Fruit / Vegetable Beer. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with a high carbonation level. Tastes of blueberry, tartness, pale malt, hops, hint of floral, and a hint of spice. Overall, good appearance, body, and blend, but lacking in aroma. One of the best blueberry beers I've ever had - the blueberries taste fresh.

Very common golden ale malt profile, you can pick a bit of the honey notes much more than you can pick up the blueberry notes, but there is a faint fruit flavor. Not offensive but not great.

Fat Head's Brewery & Saloon "Bumble Berry Honey Blueberry Ale"
on tap @ Falanigan's Boathouse, Conshohocken, PA on 26 February 2016

Appearance: Golden amber in color beneath a frothy head of white. Better than average head retention, moderate lacing.

Aroma: Blueberry over a grainy malt base.

Flavor: Sweet blueberry. Grainy, wheat-like malt. Sweetish but I don't particularly get the honey as "honey". It remains balanced. Finishes drying with some residual fruitiness. No real hops to speak of, as it should be.

Mouthfeel: Medium and crisp.

Overall: One of the better blueberry ales I've had. Nicely done.

I loved the sweetness of this beer. As soon as you open it, the scent of blueberries hits you and the taste follows through. This beer isn't too heavy but probably not for someone counting calories. Overall, I would recommend this for anyone looking for a sweet refreshment.

Stark white frothy head, maybe about a finger tall. Crystal clear with just a bit of yeast floating about near the bottom.

Smells super berry time straight away, like Boo Berry cereal with just a hint of cracker type malt.

Taste is immediately tart like the way fresh berries would be. Behind tart berry time is just a touch of metallic something.

Dry finish has virtually nothing for the tongue to hang in to. Surprising, given how dominant the fruitiness is.

Not horrible, probably one of the better fruit beers I've had but unless you just really love fruit beers, this one can probably get left on the shelf.

what would you name it? You ask. Why I would call this Big Birds blueberry Poo after a years worth of sitting in the sun. This stuff is absolutely disgusting and isn't fit for a sewer rat or let alone an X. F- absolutely no redeeming qualities.

12 oz bottle, with some sort of dating on the neck of the bottle (smudged, and couldn't read it)

Pours lightly hazed, lighter amber, minor tiny bubble head, film left behind and leaves some.
decent looking low sheeting

Sweet and fruity nose

Same thing happening on the taste buds, sweet and fruity, with blueberries and honey coming to mind...not my kind of thing, but I did not this to be over the top too sweet. Good beginner beer perhaps on or a very hot day

From the bottle: Golden yellow..slight cloudiness. Head lasted to the end w/good lacing. Flavors of blueberry, honey, and wheat. Smooth and meaty on the palette w/ no bitterness. Balanced more toward the sweeter notes. Overall a good pour. Will keep this one in stock. Worth the coin.

I personally like blueberry or any berry brew as a sour beer. This was more of a beer with blueberry accent. Not bad for a hot summer day on the lake.

They garnish this brew with a couple of blueberries. A nice touch. Great blueberry aroma. Not detecting too much honey in the nose or taste. Very easy drinker. Not a big fruity beer at all. Way better than I thought it was gonna be.

A- a nice golden amber color with a slight haze and unfiltered look. Slight head. Nice and fizzy. Slight lacing, gave way though.
S- a nice ale smell with slight blueberry reminiscent of frankenberry cereal. I haven't had that in 25 years but I remember smell. Haha
T- a nice solid american pale ale taste with slight sweetness of honey and a balanced blueberry taste. Not overly sweet.
M- nice full feel for the style. Smooth with a fizzy character.
O- very good for a fruit beer. This is probably my favorite blueberry beer.

Aroma is that of a blueberry muffin. Taste is a big let down. Very malty, not much of the aroma carries into the taste. Super subtle blueberry, with a malty crispness. Not my cup of tea. Glad i gave it a shot, but this ones not for me.

Initial honey taste followed by a very subtle blueberry finish that almost comes as a surprise, despite the name of the beer. A very good fruit inspired beer.

Have looked at this on the shelves for a couple of years. Didn't bite. Fruit not really my thing. However, FH is pretty damn good, so gave it a go when I found a super - fresh bottle. Into the Spiegelau, with a medium amber (reddish in the light) hue. 3 fingers of slightly off white head. Blueberries, blueberries, blueberries. You would think this was a blueberry beer. Nailed it on the nose and the palate. Clean maltiness, hint of flowery honey in the residual lingering. Refreshing and light, not out of place. Maybe not an everyday, but a nice one for a change of pace or the right crowd.

Served on tap in a pint glass

Appearance – The beer pours a golden amber color with a big billowy white head of two fingers height and a light level of haze. The head has a fair level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a moderate level of lace on the sides of the glass.

Smell – The aroma is big and blueberry and wheat with some other aromas of a more somewhat candy like smell. Along with these aromas are some light aromas of honey and a little bit of a grainy smell.

Taste – The taste begins with a rather decently strong and sweet blueberry flavor with a good showing of honey and some wheat. As the taste advances the blueberry tames itself a bit with the honey though seemingly getting stronger, but never overpowering. The graininess, which is light upfront grows in intensity as the taste advances and with the moderately sweeter flavor from the blueberry and honey one is left with a nice somewhat crisp, but authentic berry taste to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the thinner side with a carbonation level that is on the higher side. The thinner body and higher carbonation are perfect for the brew, making for a nice refreshing berry flavored beer.

Overall – A rather nice refreshing and crisper blueberry brew with a good more authentic blueberry flavor blended with a nice wheat and grain base. A rather nice fruit beer overall.

Serving Type - Bottle

Appearance - Golden tan with a minimal 1/8th head. Minor lacing.

Smell - Very dominate blueberry. A little honey is detected but its really all blueberry.

Taste - Pretty much like the smell, straight up blueberry with some honey sweetness. Near the finish theres pilsner like malt backbone. Not much more to say really.

Mouthfeel - Tongue gets blueberries. Palate gets remaining blueberries, a little honey and malt. Aftertaste is crisp blueberries, slight malts.

Overall - It is what it is, a straight up smooth, easy drinker that's all about blueberries. And they taste like real blueberry, not a sugar induced artificial creation. If you like blueberry you must try.

The Bumble Berry Honey Blueberry Ale from Fat Head's is ok....but keep in mind I'm not a fruit/lambic fan. Any blueberry beers I would compare with my favorite the Sammy A's blueberry lager. This beer poured a nice clear copper with nice head that is not leaving a lacing. The scent certainly carries blueberries and some biscuit. The taste has blueberry and maybe a touch of sweetness....very dry on the back end with strong alcohol taste for only a 5% abv. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it good and worth a try....just not in my wheel house genre.

I poured this into a glass, it has a golden color body with a small head to it. The smell is of fresh blueberries and smells sweet. The taste is up front blueberries with a little honey, then a little malt on the finish and a hint of blueberry on the tongue. Mouthfeel is smooth and overall a very tasty beer.

Bumble Berry Honey Blueberry Ale brewed by Fat Heads Brewery & Saloon. This brew pours out a nice cloudy amber color with a nice white head. This is an unfiltered brew you can not see thought it. The smell is sweet with berries and grains. I like how this brew is not like most brews on the market. The taste is nice, clean ,smooth, and refreshing. There is nothing overpowering in this brew. No bad aftertaste it clean and smooth. The mouthfeel is nice as well. This is not what I was expecting. I would get this brew again. Overall I'm giving this brew a 4.5 out of 5

Bumble Berry Honey Blueberry Ale from Fat Heads Brewery & Saloon, recommended by a friend. Poured from what looks to be a semi-squatter (?) bottle into a glass, this brew's head grows from nearly four finger thickness to barely a half in what seemed like no time at all. Very, very impressive lacing and a medium amber body for ol' Bumble Berry.

Smells like blueberries, but not overpowering. Just enough.

Taste is the same, its there but not too much. The same goes here with the honey taste. Both overall do not impede upon the overall taste of the brew itself. A crisp maltiness is also perceived by yours truly. Very refreshing indeed!

Mouthfeel is crisp and clean. I mean this is beyond smooth, especially for ANYTHING past 5% abv that I've drank in entire life.

Overall, an outstanding 4 is achieved from Bumble Berry Honey Blueberry Ale from Fat Heads Brewery & Saloon, This is just SO refreshing, not overbearing in any aspect. Juuust right. I will buy this brew again, you can count on that.

A: Pours a slightly unclear orange with a substantial head white head. Thought it would have been at least a little blue... There is quite a bit of carbonation that keeps a small head constantly going.

S: A bit like a blueberry muffin. Its definitely blueberry at first and then the sweet honey and wheat come in.

T: If this were classified just as a simple ale and not a fruit beer, that would make more sense. The taste is a lot like the nose. Blueberries are a bit subtle in the beginning and then it moves to a general sweetness that fades into bread notes in the end. Almost every sip after, I almost couldn't identify the blueberries, just the ale body, which is very good in-and-by itself.

M: Quite smooth and medium-light bodied. Good amount of carbonation. Nice and sessionable.

O: I don't mind drinking this. It's good overall as an ale, but if you're looking for a really fruity beer to satisfy a sweet-tooth, don't get this one. It's worth trying because it's good. But don't expect anything mind-blowing.
