The appearance was a semi-dark burnt amber color close to brown with a finger’s worth of a foamy head. Sly messy lace. The aroma had some sweet and roasty nuts, full caramel malt sweetness and a touch of some grassy hops. The flavor blended fairly nice the sweet and the roast to follow into the aftertaste and ride into the finish. The feel was about medium bodied with a decent sessionability about it. Carbonation felt good. ABV felt good too. Overall, pretty nice brown ale worthy of having again.

Ontap at Fat Head's Pittsburgh. Pours a deep brown with fine clarity. White head forms and leaves behind a wall of lace. Looks like a well hopped ale.
Aroma is hoppy and piney. In the flavor, intense earthy hops. Mild robust malty character with muted caramel and nutty flavors. Sharp bitterness. Finishes with sappy pine sticking to the palate. Small roast, coffee and smoke notes emerge as the beer warms slightly. Full bodied, well carbonated, big malt and hop flavor lasts in an elegantly robust sustain. Overall, this is a rather bitter brown that has a roasted touch but not as much as a stout or other black ales. A solid hoppy brown.

On tap at the brewery a few hours ago. Review from notes. Poured into a clean, clear glass. Notes from brewery: American brown ale with toasted nutty malt flavors serving as camouflage for a firm hop backbone that will bushwack your senses leaving you wanting more.

A Basic, brown translucent body under a very light brown basic head without much lacing.

S Medium malt with a whisper of nut smell.

T Good, solid brown ale taste with some nuts that are able to be tasted as well.

M Moderate. Not as smooth as other Fat Heads beers. True to style though.

D Good (a hallmark of the style I believe).

Notes: A solid, but kind of average Brown Ale.
