On nitro-tap @ Fatheads (North Olmstead, OH) on 8/10/09. Served in a pint glass.

Pours an absolute clear gold, with a solid creamy finger of brite-white head. Thin layer of retention skims the surface, but this leaves some massive nitro-induced rings of rich lace along the sides of the glass. The cascade hops jump out immediately in the nose, giving this a nice hoppy pop. Sticky corn bread glides underneath, giving the nose a touch of balancing sweetness.

The fresh hop character completley carries over into the taste, but is nicely layered over the light sweetness and sugary notes of bread and corn. Finishes with a quality dryness in the back. The mouthfeel is lighter bodied, with a naturally super easy and creamy feel from the nitro. This just drinks effortlessly.

Well I certainly liked this more than I had any right to! The dry hopping is really the focal point of the flavors, taking what is normally a pretty pedestrian style (Cream Ale), putting it into the background, and turning it into the malt backbone of this. Plus serving this on nitro guaranteed maximum drinkibility. Works for me!

On nitro-tap at Fat Head's Brewery & Saloon on 8/10/09.

A - Clear golden body with no carbonation and a finger's width of dense white foam that retained magnificantly and dispersed thick, intricate lacing all over the sides of the glass.

S - Wow! Fresh whole leaf hops in a cream ale? Smells like citrus fruit with dry hopped Cascades, almost as if they were floating around in the glass. Some sweet malts creep out, but the dry hopped character is undeniably the focal point of the aroma.

T - Lots of fresh hop flavor for a cream ale suggesting citrus fruit and green tea leaves. Sweet malts anchor the hop bitterness a bit, keeping them from going overboard. Finishes with a pleasant toasted grainy malt character and a touch of hop bitterness.

M - Light bodied and very smooth, albeit a bit watery, texture with a smidgen of hop bite on the palate.

D - A cream ale with a hop presence... and a really fresh citrusy hop presence at that! Plus it's light and easy to drink. I need more right now!

On tap at the brewery a few hours ago. Review from notes. Poured into a clean, clear glass. Notes from brewery: Hopped up cream ale brewed with flaked barley and a hint of corn sugar. Cream ale is dry hopped with Cascade hops and is served nitrogenated which is so very fun to watch. It's almost as much fun as having a Bob & Martha with Bob & Martha while drinking a Nitro Cream Ale.

A Very creamy white head over a very light yellow translucent body. Good lacing on glass as I sipped.

S Mild hops, background of a basic ale.

T Basic Cream Ale with mild hops profile.

M Creamy, moderate feel. Appropriate to the style.

D Fair drinkability.

Notes: Interesting to have on nitro tap but I am not a big Cream Ale fan.
