Review from notes. Enjoyed by me on tap 12 23 09 into a clean, clear glass with my brother in law Steven and my wife at the brewpub at that time. The menu lists it as "Czech Pilsner" (not simply "Czech Pils")

A Off white head over a rather boring translucent straw yellow body. 3.0

S Well, smells like a basic pilsner really. Some barley husks. 3.0

T This is a good, solid pils with that satisfying barley husk taste against light roast malt and a touch of hops. It does not, however, capture the imagination. 3.5

M Thin feel which is appropriate to the style but not much more. 3.0

D Good, a hallmark of the style. This beer goes down very easily. 4.0

on tap at Fat Head's Pittsburgh...

A - first thing I noticed was the somewhat surprising light amber color as opposed to any other pilsner i've seen. had a nice one finger layer of tightly packed head with some lacing. crystal clear clarity.

S - as expected, tight clean and crispy hops...mostly piney. offset by a well rounded body of balancing malts.

T - everything was spot on for a czech pilsner. super clean and crisp, biscuity malts play with the slightly spicy hops very nicely.

M - perfect carbonation, flavors come alive. very thirst quenching.

D - light bodied yet delicious, a perfect match for some of their heavy foods. paired so well with my "Bay of Pigs" spicy sandwich

again, Fat Head's beers are impressing me more and more each visit (which is often).
