This poured out as a reddish brown color with a thin cream colored head. The retention was minimal as well as the lacing. The smell of the beer gave off some decent spicy notes and some sweet malts. The taste of the beer was slightly bready with a decent mix of spices, sweet grains and candi sugar. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with a moderate carbonation level. Overall it's not a bad beer, not really too exciting though either.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 11/21/2016. Pours fairly crystal clear dark ruby red/light brown color with a 1 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big raisin, plum, fig, date, cherry, apricot, apple, anise, pepper, clove, light banana/bubblegum, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, brown bread, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness/roast, herbal, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, anise, and dark/bready malt sweetness; with great strength. Taste of huge raisin, plum, fig, date, cherry, apricot, apple, anise, pepper, clove, light banana/bubblegum, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, brown bread, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness/roast, herbal, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal bitterness and yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark fruit, cherry, apricot, apple, anise, pepper, clove, light banana/bubblegum, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, brown bread, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness/roast, and yeast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, anise, and dark/bready malt sweetness; with a great malt/spiciness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light dryness from bitter/spiciness, lightly increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very smooth, creamy/bready, lightly sticky/chalky, and slightly slick/syrupy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is fairly well hidden; a small pleasant warmth lingers after the finish, with no booziness. Overall this is an outstanding Belgian strong dark ale! All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, anise, and dark/bready malt sweetness; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the big ABV. Extremely rich, complex, and well balanced between yeast/malt flavors. Superb style execution all around. A highly enjoyable offering.

This is a nice Belgian Dark Ale. It pours a dark clear amber with thin white head and no lace. The scent and taste are typical of most Belgian darks....nothing notable outside that. The mouthfeel is fuller in body with smooth carbonation. Overall this is a solid offering and worth the try.

Pours a plum/dark ruby color with virtually no head. Aroma of caramel, brown sugar, booze and fruit. In the taste, raisin, plum and sugary malts. Light bitter earthy hops but this beer is sweeter. Light spices and a small burn round out a nice flavor profile.

Pimp my Sleigh is a full bodied ale with good carbonation. Drinks smoothly and effortlessly. Overal this is a nice Christmas ale, one worth revisiting when it comes around.

Pours a deep amber color with an off white head. In the aroma, a small dark fruit and spices. In the taste, lots of spices, dark fruits, and a note of alcohol. A spice bite and a medium bodied mouthfeel, with a semi dry spice and dark fruit in the aftertaste. Quite nice, and it almost feels like a quad.

Had this on 2012-12-21 in Columbia, PA from a 5-hour old growler from the Pittsburgh pub.

A - Cloudy dark amber with a short light tan head and mild lacing. Got less opaque as it warmed.

S - Bubblegum and clove like a weizenback. Fruity Belgian yeast. Caramel candy apple. Touch of alcohol.

T - Pretty sweet, raisins, brown sugar, bubblegum, clove, little bit of fig. Mid tongue is like cinnamon on a tart orange and lots of sweet and dark cherry. A bit of balancing hop bitterness.

M - Medium body and carbonation. Syrupy but with cleansing carbonation.

O - A festive, holiday brew. Better than their Christmas ale.

Enjoyed this on tap at Fat’s head.

A: Pours a dark amber-brown color with a thin 1-finger white head that quickly dissipates into a wispy lace.

S: Sweet caramel aroma with hints of spicy yeast.

T: Similar to the smell this beer is sweet with lots of caramel flavors. Hints of dark fruits and candy sugar in the background.

M: Medium body and minimal carbonation.

O: Super strong Belgian ale – but easily drinkable and very enjoyable.

Bottled on 11/9/15. 12oz bottle poured into a tulip. Pours auburn with some ruby hues; tan head that fades leaving nice retention and okay lacing. The aromas are full of dark fruits. Raisin, plum and fig. Some black cherry notes. Subtle yeast notes along with some sweet malts. The flavors seem to follow the nose. More dark fruits. Alcohol notes are there, but it's not boozy. Some sugar. It's sweet, but not cloying. Lots of malts. Finishes warm. Mouthfeel is full-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's slightly slick and syrupy. Makes for a nice sipper.

Nice brew. It might not matchup with its counterparts from overseas, but it's still an enjoyable experience. It hits the spot during the cold weather.

Woo hoo! This is a holiday brew to celebrate. I'm real happy I scored a four pack. I have been splitting the bottles with my son and son in law, but this one is all mine.

It deep brown with nice fine fizz. The aroma is a sweet amalgam of yeast, malts, and spices and things.

The taste is a rich, sweet yeasty, dark Belgian, with just a bit of bite, but yet nicely balanced. It is drinkable but you know you are getting a monster brew. The aftertaste sticks in the mouth pretty long too.

This is a special brew and I hope there is another batch coming so we can get more.

From the great brewers from Fat Head's via Jungle Jim's in a growler
and served in a snifter. This fine Belgian style strong pours a deep moderately
clear red tinged brown color with a nice head of white foam that settles to a thick
ring, thin light layer, and nice light lacing. Nose of moderate booze, brown sugars,
raisin bread, and dark cherries. Flavors exceed the nose with brown sugars and
lightly warming booze soaked in raisin breads with notes of dark cherry and light
cranberry notes. Very nice mouth feel; smooth, rich, warming, lightly dry, and
with modest carbonation. Overall a fantastic brew from a great Ohio brewer.

Cheers!

A- Pours a clear dark amber color with a fairly thin egg shell colored head. Head becomes a very thin layer of bubbles and leaves pretty much no lacing.

S- Smell is pretty spice over all. Spice is a combination of the yeast and holiday spices. Quite a bit of sweetness here brown sugar and darker fruits.

T- Taste is very malt forward. Quite sweet with brown sugar, plums, raisins and figs leading the way. A good amount of spice too. A touch of alcohol warmth here.

M- Fuller side of medium and a good amount of carbonation.

O- A very solid brew. Pretty impressive.

Ouch! 16oz pour? Jeebus! Looks a cloudy dark brown-red. Mega-thick lacing. Intimidating-looking, in a good way.

Smells of candi sugar, sweet dark fruits, cherry, caramel, and cordial. Estery yeast and chiming booze. This is a big one.

Sweet toffee, red fruits, candi sugar, nectarine, cherry, plum, clove, hint of cinnamon, toastiness, and a hell of a lot of booze. Tastes tangy in a great yeasty way. Huge, in a scary way. Wowsers.

Drinks super-duper smooth in the body. Feels like cashmere. Carbonation is appropriately feisty. Booze is on overdrive, however, and murders the drinkability.

One tasty draft beer. Wish I had one of these for Christmas. Great representation.
