Dark ruby brown Belgian style strong ale with complex flavors reminiscent of dried fruits. The sweet hints of raisin, fig and plum are accentuated with rock candy sugar then warmed away by the strength of the dry alcoholic finish.

On tap in a pint glass at Woodland's on 8/25/12

Dark brown appearance with a one finger head. Thin retention. Not much lace.

Dark bread and fruit aroma. Apple, banana, raisin, yeast, bubblegum. It has an upfront tangy flavor that tapers off quickly. Very bready. Moderate spice, clove and pepper. Earthy. Medium body with lively carbonation that dwindles after the beer opens up.

Overall impression: A decent beer, but nothing spectacular.

This beer is a dark red-brown color with a ruby flare at the edges. It is opaque simply due to its dark color. It grows a tan head to about half a finger with reasonable stay, and some lacing sticks in light patches and heavy spotting.
There's lots of fruit in here along with gentle spiciness and it has a sweet character overall. It develops dryness as it goes, though, while the spices and dark fruits integrate with a bit of tobacco leaf and a mild woodiness. Malts are bready and dry, balancing notes of caramel, raisin, and candi sugars. The dryness leads a bit yeasty into the finish.
The body is medium but cut through by a crispness that's fairly hard. The feel ends up ever so slightly leaning semi-sweet but very close to even. It gets a little smoother underneath as it goes.

Dark brown with a reddish hue and a fluffy, uniform puck of a tan head on top.

Soft banana and clove on the nose.

Banana raisin nut bread, with some spices, and a little boozy heat.
